stingy company pay little dividend to share holders....another metro holding case.

The main differences between Sing Holdings as oppose to Metro on dividend payments are

1. Metro holding had a lot of cash $$ whereas Sing Holding has little cash and not able to give good dividend. Will have to assess after "The Laurels" obtian TOP and see if they're "Stingy".
2. Metro Holding paid the major shareholder Jopie Ong obscene remuneration. However, Sing Holding paid to slightly high remuneration to the major shareholders, Lee family members.

By the way, the last traded price of Sing Holdings was 43 cents and I'm expecting it to come down further due to the latest property cooling measures announced on Friday.

Vested in Sing Holdings but not metro

If below 40 cts, I will take a basket and collect some then stock-up in my warehouse...waiting for Laurel to TOP...my old friend said this ticker 1 day sure touches 60 cts...let hope.

only need $4m to give 1 cents dividend ^^

a big boy is in this...he has been supporting at 42.....then he pushed on last thursday on last friday.....and support at 43.....let's see what is his new support....I am pretty sure we should hit 50 cents soon...but whether it can be done before the full year result is out is harder now...before the latest cooling measures, it was highly probable to hit 50 cents and we can see if the boss would announce bonus issue when reporting full year result.....now don't look likely but then anything is possible....the stock market still in bullish phase....and I am very sure the Dec sales for the property companies must be good....govt always like that if the sales good they announce cooling measures....on 15 jan 2013, ura will announce dec sales....would be very good...

In my opinion, the chances of bonus issue is pretty unlikely based on the last transacted price of 43 cents + latest property cooling measures as well as the amended "Rule 838 of the SGX-ST Listing Manual requiring listed companies to ensure that the daily weighted average share price, adjusted for a bonus share issue is not less than S$0.50".

As for special dividend, I'm not too optimistic as well. I'll be happy if Sing Holdings is willing to pay 1.5 cents final dividend for FY2012 given their net debt per share at 70 cents or net gearing of 148% as per 3Q FY2012. Anyway, I'll try to wait till "The Laurels" obtain the TOP in 3Q FY2013 hopefully the TOP is earlier. Any insider inform of the current development status?? Perhaps should check with Lian Beng, the main contractor :) :)

I agreed that Dec 2012 sale of new residential units should be good but based on the caveat launched for "The Laurels" there is only 1 sub sale but no new developer sale :( :(

true...with the cooling measures 50 cents is harder now.....but honestly it depends on the will of the big boys....

as for the gearing as long as a project sells, the gearing is not a big concern. I would like them to launch robin soon( with the cooling measures i think might be after CNY....initially I hope before that....) if the sales are good, Sing Holdings would be leng leng( money not so tight). If you look at the long term debts of Sing Holdings in 3Q2012, if i remember correctly it is around $80-90m. The long term debt is basically due to the Robin plot site and the total land cost is $176m. Actually they can borrow more but they only borrowed $80-$90m....so this shows their financial status.....

yes zero sales from Sing Holdings in Dec, i was hoping that Sing Holdings would make good use of the momentum to launch Robin plot....

come to think of it.......did Mr Lee's 'gut feel' that a cooling measure is forthcoming.....hence sold 30% stake in punggol plot.....quite strange for a 'hungry' man to share his small plate of food with others and throw in construction deal too....

maybe company is in advanced stage of another big deal.....so share share ^^

back to 37/38 and 43/44 trading range....

the JV with UE ........don't look strange now ^^ just a guess ^^

behappyalways wrote:2 cents worth.....

37/38 and 43/44 have been the stock's resistance post-financial crisis.....

It broke 37/38 resistance a few mths back and last month when the STI Index fell, share price was able to hold at 37/38. This meant that the 37/38 resistance has become the support now......so most likely the share price would hover around 37/38 to 43/44.

Today share price closed at 42 but i doubt it would break 43/44 but if it does then it would be post-financial crisis high. Then we should be looking at around 60 cents. The catalyst might be a research report on sing holdings or launch of Robin site which i think should be pretty soon. The company was trying to rent out their robin properties(enbloc so the buildings are liveable) short-term till 31 dec 2012.....not sure if they rented out but the dateline suggests something after 31 dec.....

you got buy boh?

ai yo we bought 150 lots 2 days ago and still so many sellers.....

the smart boss refused to do share buyback and keep crying father and mother about underlying low price.....when there is a hit on share price due to the cooling measures, mgmt should come out to buy and support the share price and if they are not willing to use their own money then share buyback is a useful tool......no point cying father and mother when tools available are not used or refused to be used....

Went thru a few property counters and recorded their price performance......

1. City Dev
30 Dec 2011 - 8.90
18 Jan 2013 - 11.43 (up by 28.4%)

2. Hiap Hoe
30 Dec 2011 - 0.42
18 Jan 2013 - 0.625 (up by 48.8%)

3. Heeton
30 Dec 2011 - 0.36
18 Jan 2013 - 0.61 (up by 69.4%)

4. Ho Bee
30 Dec 2011 - 1.02
18 Jan 2013 - 1.895 (up by 82.8%)

5. Koh Brothers
30 Dec 2011 - 0.18
18 Jan 2013 - 0.285 (up by 58.3%)

6. Roxy
30 Dec 2011 - 0.26
18 Jan 2013 - 0.60 (up by 130.8%)

7. SC Global
30 Dec 2011 - 0.99
18 Jan 2013 - 1.80 (up by 81.8%)

8. Sing Holdings
30 Dec 2011 - 0.28
18 Jan 2013 - 0.40 (up by 42.9%)

9. Wing Tai
30 Dec 2011 - 0.94
18 Jan 2013 - 1.87 (up by 98.9%)

As you can see from the data, Sing Holdings' share price has underperformed compared to most of the other property counters in the list although its fundamentals and PE are attractive compared to the others......why did the share price underperformed? If it continues to underperform, that is one question minority shareholders need to ponder and ask during the next AGM..........
