Friends Who Encourage

Our spiritual friends might be able to see what we have not yet let go of and find the right way to encourage us.

Thus, it can be useful, at the right time, to reveal to our spiritual friends, where we are stuck.

Touching Our Suffering

Even though our practice is to learn to dwell in the present moment and not be carried away by the future or be swept away by the past, when we meditate, we need to know how to deeply touch our historical suffering with compassion.

A Helping Hand

Some things just hurt. And no matter what, we are not alone.

Take one small step to allow whatever helping hands are coming toward you to reach you or to extend a helping hand to someone else in some way.

Meaningful Work

Your values are the heartbeat of meaningful work.

Values not only drive what you put your energy into but are also the engine for why you’ve chosen that work in the first place and how you show up.

Understanding the Inner World

Our experience of the inner world, structures our experience of the outer world.

A deep understanding of our emotional life, is therefore the ground for our well-being.

Natural Meditation

What we call “meditation” was natural to us during our evolution, as we sat around a fire in the quiet darkness or lay on the ground looking up into the stars or tried to make ourselves disappear, so an animal would come near.

Dissolving Consciousness

This consciousness isn’t some stable entity that flows through everything.

It’s constantly dissolving and reforming.

Intuitive Faith

Faith is intuitive, it’s primordial, it’s something that we’re born with.

It’s not something that we can go and learn about.

We cultivate it and we continue to fine-tune it as we deepen in our practice.

What Is Sitting?

What do we mean by “just sitting”?

“Sitting” means sitting, walking, working, eating, speaking and being silent.

“Just” means that there is nothing in the world that is not sitting.

Be Good to Others

Goodwill is not a Pollyanna kind of wish, thinking that everybody’s going to be good, therefore I’ll be good to them.

It’s because people are not going to be good many times, that you’ve got to be good to them.
