To skeptics, the crypto world as a whole is a mirage whose massive run-up past $2 trillion was simply the speculative byproduct of the extraordinary amount of easy cash that’s been sloshing around in the global economy — in effect, a big bubble.
Bitcoin soared 305% in 2020 and notched another 60% the following year, topping out at a record of almost $69,000 in early November.

Since the beginning of 2022, Bitcoin has dropped 14%, the NASDAQ 7% and the S&P 4%.
The prospect of higher interest rates tends to make riskier assets like these less attractive. Why? Because higher interest rates can mean higher rates for bonds and other interest-bearing instruments. Since these tend to have lower risk profiles, investors figure riskier assets aren't as great as they were before rates jumped.
Devote no more than 1% to 2% of your portfolio to crypto.

“Bitcoin’s market capitalization still represents a fraction of global assets and is likely to scale as nation-states adopt [it] as legal tender” .
Bitcoin’s cumulative transfer volume increased by 463% in 2021, and its annual settlement volume has surpassed Visa’s annual payments volume.
Technological advancements such as the Taproot upgrade and Lightning Network may also help bitcoin to scale.
And institutional ownership of bitcoin will also broaden, according to ARK.
Last year, Wood herself predicted that bitcoin would reach $500,000 by 2026.
