AAR & TOL 03 (Aug 09 - Dec 13)

Re: AAR & TOL (Aug 09 - Mar 10)

The market has been strong the past few days so it's time to be clear about the strategy:-

I got no strategy because, after last few weeks, I can't form an opinion on whether the market is a bull, in a correction, or range-bound.

So I'm sitting in cash... the risk is that exuberance will win out and the market runs off without me.
I wait until there is money lying in the corner, and all I have to do is go over there and pick it up.

TOL:-

Wonder where are the bubbles now ? One can catch some quick profits on momentum plays if executed properly..

Physical Property is out, due to the wide bid /ask and slow transaction times. Property stocks is an idea. But equity markets are forward looking and they dont think that physical property can continue it's sharp upturn.

Same story for Banks, Gold, Commodities, Consumers etc.

So back to square one :(

i suppose i would do the same too...no opinion, cannt possibly take a position... it would be silly to do so...all because trade positions articulate one's market bias...

TOL:-

1) Are you hoping for the market to correct so that you can buy ?

OR

2) Are you waiting for the market to go up so that you can sell ?

What are your thoughts and why ?

1).
I'm shooting for 20% return this year. It's easily achieveable once there is a correction. I'll be patient.

Dear L... i think you are being too modest with your target....i'm sure you will do much better than 20% this year...

Hi Lena-Jie,

If there's a corrrection, how much are you looking at before you comfortable to enter market again?
eg. a drop of 15% from the top, if STI 3000 pts now, 450 pts down to 2550 pts?

<trying to tap your mind and understand how difficult it is to be a disciplined and patient investor!> ;)

PROMISE, PASSION, PEACE, POWER, PURPOSE, PLAN, PATIENCE, PERSEVERANCE, PROTECTION
DELIGHT, DISCIPLINE, DILIGENT, DETERMINATION, DESIRE
