Boustead clinches $15m Charles & Keith deal

BOUSTEAD Singapore has clinched a $15 million contract to design-and-build a new headquarters building for Charles & Keith Holdings Pte Ltd at the Paya Lebar iPark. This latest project, through 91.7 per cent subsidiary Boustead Projects Pte Ltd, raises Boustead's order book to some $525 million.


Integrating an eight-floor logistics hub and ancillary office, the facility will have a gross floor area of about 15,750 square metres. It will be located within walking distance of the existing Charles & Keith Building which Boustead Projects constructed at the Paya Lebar iPark in 2006.

When completed in the third quarter of financial year 2010, it will be the sixth industrial facility that Boustead Projects has designed and built within the 15-hectare Paya Lebar iPark, an industrial park which aims to create a vibrant enterprise ecosystem for the work-centric community and a unique place for innovation that incorporates work, learn and play elements.

Charles & Keith is a leading retailer of ladies footwear and fashion accessories, and has more than 160 retail outlets across 21 countries.

To date, Boustead Projects has completed industrial facilities located at the Paya Lebar iPark for Charles & Keith, Allied Telesyn, Nobel Design, Apex-Pal and Luxasia.

The latest contract is not expected to have a material impact on the profits, earnings per share or net asset value per share of Boustead for the current financial year ending March 31, 2010.

They surprised me with this deal. I had thought their portfolio of D&B projects was dwindling down and that they were focusing more on DB&L as their business model for Boustead Projects.

Haha, my interest in C&K merely hinges on whether they can pay Boustead on time and in full, so that I can expect my dividend from Boustead.

and of cos...only very big players will concern themselves with dividends...else, 1 share pays a few cents... 10lots only how much money annually.... i oso salute MW the big fish...
