I'm pretty sure the Jap population in Singapore will welcome this. My Jap friend here seems a satisfied customer, and having visited the shops in Japan, yeah, pretty decent stuff. Good, more competition for U2, Giordano and G2000. Sian of seeing the same brands everytime.

U2, Giordana and G2000 are not in the same league. In addition, those brands have a logo on their clothes.

Uniqlo does not have a logo on their clothes. That's why it's so appealing to alot of people. And their quality is very good.

You only want an expensive logo, say Hugo Boss not a Bossini :D

Definitely agree with W on the quality of Uniqlo's clothes.

I was at the flagship store and it was packed. Long queues at every level.

These guys knows how to move goods. Let's hope WingTai does not screw it up here.
1. Always wait for the setup. NO SETUP; NO TRADE

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.

It's Fun to Know: Buying Habits of the "Stealthy Wealthy"

Yes, retail sales are down across the board. But there's still a big market for high-end designer handbags, shoes, and the like. It's just gone a bit "underground."

Retailers call it "stealth wealth" - consumers going to great lengths to avoid displays of big spending in these lean times.

Shoppers at luxury stores ask for purchases to be delivered to their homes so they can leave the store without bags. Or they ask for plain bags instead of those bearing logos. Some even ask for pricey items to be wrapped as gifts - when they intend to keep them for themselves.

There has also been a rise in personal shoppers and in-home "shopping parties," where the goods are brought to customers for perusal in private.

It's Fun to Know: A Surge in Online Coupons

Though online coupons make up only 1 percent of the 2.6 billion coupons offered each year in the United States, cost-conscious shoppers are using them more than ever before. The trend is making retailers happy, because the coupons are bringing people into stores in record numbers.

Thirteen percent of available online coupons were redeemed in 2008, compared to only 1 percent of their print cousins. And use of online coupons grew by 140 percent over 2007.

It's Good to Know: How Grocery Store Shelves Are Organized

When you're shopping for staples like flour or sugar, don't just grab the first box or bag you see. Grocery stores place the more expensive premium brands at eye level - and, in fact, manufacturers pay thousands for that shelf space.

The products above eye-level are usually cheaper, with the real bargains on the bottom shelf. The quality is about the same for most "commodity" items. You pay for the privilege of not having to bend over or reach up.
