Leaving by mutual consent eh? Hmm... sounds odd leh. He was hired on 24 Aug 2007. Not even one year on the job:

face saving words. We can only speculate the reason for this departure; next higher paying job, can't perform, don't c eye to eye with his boss, scandilius affair exposed, mother sick must go home, decide to trade for living, decide to serve religion fulltime, health reasons, sacked, etc.

Not vested. From Lim & Tan:-

Noble initiated its share buy-back program yesterday, following the slump in recent days, buying 7.62 mln shares at
$1.62 average.
The current mandate allows for up to 272.14 mln shares.

This would be its second buy-back ever, after the purchase of 1.7 mln shares in mid-August ’07, at $1.56 each.

We had expressed concern when the COO-Finance resigned abruptly on Aug 22nd.
It's all about "how much you made when you were right" & "how little you lost when you were wrong"

Noble Indonesian coal operations running smoothly

http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/ ... penelement

To clarify a news report of yesterday, Noble Group (SGX: NOBL), a global supply
chain manager of agricultural, industrial and energy products and a leading coal
exporter, confirms that it has not declared force majeure on shipments from the
DEJ mine and that Indonesian operations have not been disrupted by the recent
heavy rains in Kalimantan. The DEJ production unit in South Kalimantan is
operating as per normal.

Noble drops plan to issue new shares to CEO and director
By ANGELA TAN

Noble Group Limited said on Friday that its board of directors has decided to scrap plans to issue shares to certain executive directors.

The global commodities-related group had announced on July 2, 2008 that it planned to issue up to 10 million new shares to its chief executive officer and executive director, Richard Samuel Elman, and up to 6 million new shares to its executive director, Harindarpal Singh Banga.

These were in lieu of part of the total bonuses payable to them in respect of the financial year ended Dec 31 2007.

'The Board would like to announce that the company has decided not to proceed with the proposed issue,' Noble said. No reasons were cited.

Noble Invests in Grain-Sugar Export Terminal in Brazil

http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/ ... penelement

....

This new terminal further bolsters Noble’s pipeline strategy to establish a well structured and modern supply chain. This enables the company to gain greater control of the trade flows from the production fields to destination markets such as China, Europe and Middle East. Other South American facilities under Noble’s control include terminals in Timbues and Delta Dock in Lima, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Noble also owns six warehouses in Mato Grosso and Paraná as well as other storage facilities in Uruguay and Argentina.

Spread over a covered area of 10,000 thousand square meters with a static warehousing capacity for 90,000 thousand tons of sugar or 73,000 thousand tons of grain (soybeans or corn), the Santos terminal will have a ship loader of 3 thousand tons per hour, ensuring that a Panamax vessel can be fully loaded in less than 48 hours. Noble currently owns 75% of the terminal which is expected to be fully operational by November 2009. The remaining 25% is owned by Noble’s partner, Itamaraty.

José Roberto Serra, President of Companhia Docas do Estado de São Paulo (CODESP), the federal state company that owns the port of Santos, has commented on the importance of this investment. "This new terminal will contribute and add value to the installations of the port of Santos due to the increased demand for bulk commodities which we can also attribute to Santos. At the same time, this will certainly help to create new jobs in the area."
