This one... not so nice to watch; but look at:

1 min 13 sec mark: red fighter - damn nice turning kick followed up with a jumping backthrust in one motion (i.e. no landing). One thing to do this on a sandbag or with target pads; another thing to actually pull this off in a sparring match.

1 min 24 sec mark: red fighter - sliding back thrust... blue fighter go home, chest sure got one MahLing luncheon meat size mark.

Stupid clip actually repeats itself after that... knn let me watch until gong gong, thought got more pattern haha

Hoho, good advice about training left back thrust. Interestingly, I can only kick well with left leg for backthrust, though I'm right handed. Maybe right leg stronger, hence more stable.

You know the video with the very fast kicks (i think the 2nd one), they fight without defense one, sieow! So aggressive, but kick with arms wide open. Tsk tsk...

Haha glad you enjoyed them. I think at that speed of their turning kicks, it's unnatural to still be able to keep the hands in a guarding position while executing the kicks. Machiam all out - hope you die first before I die.

For a contact sport .. no defense with hands and with hands alot of diff... TKD alot of pattern but in real life where got people stand there let u wack someone let people grab the leg nia gone sure on the floor...

HH, this is a good video I always like to watch muay thai fighters. Their art form is so much more practical than TKD. We can see that the muay thai fighter blocks a lot during his kicking, and he counter kicks the TKD fighter at his supporting leg. It's hard not to fall down for the TKD fighter.

Women's under 49kg qtr finals... farking disappointing thus far.

Missed all of the first bout, except the final sudden-death tie-breaker which was won by the Taiwanese fighter. Should've been boring lah, score was 0-0 at the end of 3 rounds. Nice kick to the head to win it though.

China's world champion next, against a Swede. Very aggressive shouting, posturing from the Chinese, and decent. Nothing spectacular - but her opponent wasn't too good; so I guess like Bolt, the Chinese fighter conserve energy.

Next 2 bouts - fucking boring. That's the problem these days - fighters are so fearful of losing points to a counter-attack, they spend time deliberating, sizing up opponents, prefering to defend and counter-attack instead of taking the initiative to attack.

Too bad the Taiwanese and Chinese fighters will meet in the semi's instead of the final.

I hope the rest of the bouts aren't just as boring. KNN.
