An interesting move for Ford today.

The general market is down while it gaps up and break through resistance at around 12.56

The price is above the kumo and we can also see that the leading kumo is twisting (another sign that its uptrend is going up and intact)

It’s next resistance is around 13.25; after which we can expect a run up to the $14s.

Ford <F.N> reports quarterly results and the market is expecting a profit of 45 cents per share, down from 48 cents per share one year ago from the No. 2 U.S. automaker, whose executives are likely to discuss its outlook for sales and its new labor pact with the United Auto Workers.

Ford 2Q EPS Below Estimates, Stock Price Plunges 8.2%

Ford Motors announced the result for the second quarter of 2016, which turned out disappointing to the market.

The stock price plunged 8.2% to US$12.71 at close.

During the period, the net profit fell 8.8% yearly to US$1.97 billion; adjusted EPS was US52 cents, below market expectation of US60 cents; gross revenue rose 6% yearly to US$39.485 billion.

Rising costs and depreciation of RMB in China affected the result, and the plant production halt in Chongqing for eight weeks for improving equipment standard caused a fall in sales.

Ford Stock (F): There’s Blood in the Street. You Know What to Do.

F stock has been discounted for years. Peak earnings and sales should come as no surprise.

By Dan Burrows

Ford stock has been a big disappointment on a price basis for a couple of years now in anticipation of the end of the car-buying cycle.

Maybe now that we’ve gotten to this moment, the market will realize that much of the downside has already been priced in.

It will likely take some time for F stock to be a winner on a price basis, but the discounted valuation and whopper dividend yield of 4.8% makes takes the sting out of waiting.
