Hi sesdaqfan, what made you say that it's worse in this part of the world?

Just finished reading a book called The Intuitive Trader by Robert Koppel.

In it he examines the mind-body physiology connection with great traders and how they get into the zone and trade purely on intuition. This book is laid out interview style like the Market Wizard series.

The book also talks about NLP, for those who are familiar with the term. The traders he interviewed trade mostly on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The traders talk about how they trade thro' intuition and what gets them in the zone. For a good read on NLP, try Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins.

My take off from the book is intuition comes from many years of trading... I think ppe. like Winston and Heng Heng trades on intuition cos' they have seen many market cycles and are very experienced. I am not there yet (too far to even see the light ). I am still a mechanical trader... Will probably try to get there in another 5 years time, if I ever see the light at all (hopefully not the one at the end of my life ).

If I give the Market Wizard series 4 stars out of 5, this book would deserve 3 stars. Again, my disclaimer is I am an unqualified book critic. Current reading PJ Rourke's ON The Wealth of Nations and The Prosperity Game.

For one, our corporate disclosure here is pathetic. Two, the accountability factor here is almost non-existence. Look at how many corporate CEOs still retain their job even after consecutive years of losses. In the US, they probably get the sack already. Three, lets say its from confessions of local deal makers who I came to know about.

Disclaimer: The above are my understanding when I used to play the local market many moons agao. I'm mainly in the US market for the past 5 years to really qualify my statement.

there's v little advisory support fr indep agencies to listing Co., maybe this advisory biz won't be profitable unless there's a channel that e retail investors can pay for this svc lor ...

I do agree CEO of big bosses stay even though mistakes are made. Hey, doesn't it remind me of a certain minister who let certain people escape from certain detention centre, but certain pple are punished yet certain people are not? hoho, if the top beam is crooked, the bottom beam cannot be straight too

Hi MM,

I just borrowed "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" from the library this evening and will use the weekend to read it. This is one of the books which was highly recommended by yourself when you commented on one of the posts in my blog some time back.

I was wondering if you had other good personal finance books to recommend ? Thanks !
