hi MM, thanks Bro.

Reminds me of Livingstone in WS. He got me interested in CANSLIM, so i'm glad you are also sharing CANSLIM.

I want to start practicing tracking the "leading" counters, since they are the market trend, it's important to watch them right?
Is there somewhere i can get a list of the leading counters? Are they the companies that makes up the index fund?
Where can i get the list? *For both US and SGX.

Thanks. :P

Yo Rider,

Glad to see you back here... You have been pretty quiet.. post more leh.. we like to hear from you and your views ;)

Leading counters in US. Look for all time highs in stockchart.coms and stocks 10% from their highs during this correction. I can send you a list of top 200 leading stocks in the US next week if this rally takes hold..This is just the stock list.. you will have to do your own homework to determine if they are at the correct buy point.

Leading stocks in Singapore? Forget about them... most flow up and down with the mkt.. For eg. look at Sino Env. with a good growth story. When mkt broke on Jan 4, it was around $2.20. March 24 start of rally it was 82cts. When the next correction set in on May 22, it was 1.73. Now it is around 1.15.... pointless to track the cup and handle, tight base IMO cos' the buying/selling is not evenly matched...

I hope this helps. Posts more leh.. :)

Regards,
mm

Need more education before i post more mah... Doing my part to minimize forum noize! Haha. :D

Just checked out stockchart.coms, found the leading counters by scanning for New 52-week Highs. I then picked 3 counters for this exercise, looking at highest done price (the highest 3) and volume traded (must be well traded too), my list is ICLR, ILMN and CLHB.

Looking at these 3, it seems the market is starting a new rally, all breaking their highs from previous rally, eg. ICLR's recent rally gapped up and broke the previous rally high of 78.24 already with healthy volume. Seems to be building momentum... Is this our kind of "follow through" or do we have to wait for a base to form before confirming an upward trend?

Yes, pls send me the list. Promise I won't treat them as tips! Thanks in advance. ;)

For those interested, pls note the url is http://stockcharts.com/
Select "Stock Scans" on the lower left's frame.

Yo Rider,

Since mkt is in uptrend now (hope it lasts :D), here is the list of top 200 stocks ranked by earnings that made the cut.

Not a buy/sell recommendation. Please do your homework before you part with your hard earned money.

Cheers,
mm

Chiron,

Yes, I got it from IBD.

Glad you enjoyed the book too.

Reading the book was the missing link for me in my investment journey.. The M part :D

Once I got it figured out, things became so much easier ;)

Cheers,
mm

MM, thanxs, the book is enjoyable. It is the M part that attracted me to read the book, because I used to have a misconception that CANSLIM is based purely on FA techniques.

Is it worth to subscribe to IBD?

Thanxs

Hi MM,

I am also wondering whether to sign up for IBD (i was a trial user, but before I can play around with the functions, the trial period is up). Also wondering whether CANSLIM can be applied to spore (which i understand from ur viewpoint that its not easily applied in spore if at all possible). will also appreciate your tots (via PM) on IBD service from an user perspective on IBD's value-adding services before I decide on the subscription. Thank you.
