These popular clothes could be making you sick by Dr. David Eifrig

Avoid the new, higher-priced, wrinkle-free clothes... They often contain perfluorochemicals (PFCs).

PFCs are chemicals that can harm reproduction and development and are linked to several cancers. They are also commonly used in clothes that are labeled "permanent press" or "wrinkle-free."

But when absorbed through the body, they cannot be broken down or eliminated.

Washing clothes several times gets rid of some of the chemicals, but not all. And of course... it makes them less wrinkle-free.

To avoid PFCs in your clothes, avoid anything labeled "wrinkle-free," "no iron," or "permanent press."

Look for clothes that are made from 100% natural fibers like cotton, wool, or even bamboo.

Privacy by Bill Rounds, How to Vanish

Types Of Electronic Surveillance

What kind of electronic surveillance might law enforcement conduct?

1. Cell Phone Surveillance
2. Facial Recognition
3. Financial Blockade

Conclusion

Protecting privacy protects peaceful protesters of any cause. Smart strategy is needed to prevent financial blockades, unjust police action and other tools that could be used to cripple protest movements.

Using these privacy tactics and others in the book How To Vanish can help peaceful people avoid unjust actions from law enforcement around the country and around the world.

U.S. Government Glossed Over Cancer Concerns As It Rolled Out Airport X-Ray Scanners

by Michael Grabell

On Sept. 23, 1998, a panel of radiation safety experts gathered at a Hilton hotel in Maryland to evaluate a new device that could detect hidden weapons and contraband.

The machine, known as the Secure 1000, beamed X-rays at people to see underneath their clothing.

One after another, the experts convened by the Food and Drug Administration raised questions about the machine because it violated a longstanding principle in radiation safety — that humans shouldn’t be X-rayed unless there is a medical benefit.

Beware: High Risks Associated With This Drink

The popularity of energy drinks continues to rise. Many people turn to these caffeine and sugar-spiked beverages to boost flagging energy reserves.

But medical experts remain divided about the pros and cons of downing drinks like “Red Bull” and “Rock Star.”

This health e-letter will try to present both sides of the argument based on results from two recent studies.

21-year-old dies after StanChart half-marathon By Jeanette Tan

A young man died after competing in the Standard Chartered (StanChart) half-marathon in Singapore on Sunday morning.

According to a statement from the StanChart marathon organising committee, the Chinese runner, whom they declined to identify, was 21 years old, and had collapsed after finishing the 21km race at the Padang at about 8:30am.

He was attended to immediately and sent to Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where he died an hour after he collapsed.

The runner’s family has since been notified of his death, and the organising committee will be assisting the police in their investigation.

“The Organising Committee extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased,” said the statement.

Doc Eifrig: Another big reason to boycott the TSA's dangerous scanners immediately

The backlash against the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) over body scanners continues.

Many readers know I refuse to go through the new airport scanners. The radiation from these scanners increases your risk of cancer... and does little to protect us from anything. Instead, I opt for a pat down.

Now, the European Union (EU) has banned the use of these scanners in its airports. The EU said it will not "risk jeopardizing citizens' health and safety."

Amid calls to prove the scanners are safe, the TSA announced it would complete a study. But earlier this month, the study was delayed. According to the TSA, a report from the Inspector General may make an independent study of the scanners unnecessary if they're declared safe. Nonsense.

Several studies have already confirmed the radiation emitted from the scanners will cause a small number of cancer cases. But those estimates were done while the maker was trying to get approval in only a few airports.

But now, millions of people going through these things... meaning larger numbers of cancer diagnoses down the road...

And the TSA's refusal to prove the scanners are safe confirms my bet. It can't show them to be safe because they aren't.

So the next time you're traveling, do what I do and refuse the scan... opt out of the government's cancer machines.
