Very nice La Pap.

Its impresses me that you have both the skill and the patience to get this done. ;)

I have neither the patience, nor the skill. I have butter fingers

Hi mm,

Thanks for the compliments :) I had promised someone that before I marry her, I would do up this thing and hang it upon our room. When things are tough, it's this promise that kept me going.

I saw the receipt of the stuff I had bought years ago and was shocked to see that it was dated in 2007. This means that it had been a very long project of 3 yrs. Conceptualizing the idea took way before even I had bought the materials, so it had been an idea that had been mused over and over, been fermented until it materialized with the fervor of decomposing gas erupting through the surface, haha....how gross :)

Just hoped that the outcome would be worthy of the promise :)

I finally finished the hard parts of the whole project! Been too busy to post anything, so here it goes:

I like this photo. It's the clearest ever taken from my hp.

Image

For this, I had to retrace some of my drawings again. This is because during the pasting, some parts had gone out of their intended position.

Image

I had thought the hands will be quite difficult. But after my training on the hair section, this is really nothing. Did it in 30 mins.

Image

After this I had to do the background. I had trouble being satisfied with the exact colours that I want for the background. I'll search around first. I better hurry up though, need time to do the framing too.

Been very busy lately, so didn't catch up with the project.

But here's some pics of it. I'm nearing completion already.

Added the blue sky backdrop. Had a very hard time choosing the right coloured paper for this background but eventually found the tone that I liked.

Image

Been too busy to do anything for 1 week plus. So managed to add in this small part only.

Image

I just did this. The contrast between the two persons and the backdrop is still strong. I'm afraid that the colours will not match against each other, thankfully it's ok.

Image

Added the rim to separate the rose part from the portrait part. It's not done up yet, but I'm too tired to carry on. Will have to hurry up and finish up the rim, then follow up the last part which is the backdrop for the rose. I still haven't decided on a good colour to do the background for the rose....

Dear Pappy,

From all these time and committment, I'm very touched by your promise and love for her.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back somewhere along the course of life and marriage, you'd realise these were the best things you'd done ...

Look forward to attend your wedding ... Are you prepared?!

Regards.

I'm out of glue....duh...

After buying so many coloured papers, I just used back the same old one that I bought much earlier. I still think it's the nicer overall combination. I'm liking it more and more :) Just need to buy some glue and I should be done in one more session :)

Guess I was wrong...couldn't finish in one session.

I'm very happy with the results so far. It gives the kind of Mr.Bean animation feel to it, with the bold black outlines to give a very strong contrast with the lighter background.

I'd shown my gf the project already :) We all had a touching moment together, haha

Congrats!

I believe you have highlighted it before. Can you just remind me which is the most difficult part and why?
1. Always wait for the setup. NO SETUP; NO TRADE

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.
