Compassion is not yours or mine

You may be very clever in your studies, in your job, in being able to argue very cleverly, reasonably, but that is not intelligence. Intelligence goes with love and compassion, and you cannot come upon that intelligence as an individual.

Compassion is not yours or mine like thought is not yours or mine. When there is intelligence, there is no me and you.

And intelligence does not abide in your heart or your mind. That intelligence which is supreme is everywhere. It is that intelligence that moves the earth and the heavens and the stars, because that is compassion.

Your Life Is Waiting

What you do every day is what you do in life. Your day to day thoughts and actions make up the sum of your life. People say they want a happy life but they are always waiting for that "life" to happen in order to be happy.

Today is not a temporary time filler on the way to your life. Today IS your life. Right NOW is your life. Don't waste today because you think your life might happen tomorrow. Life is happening now. The happy life you want is now.

Whatever it is you want to be in your life, whatever it is you want to do or have in your life, the time is now. Don't wait for your life to get here, it's already here.

While you're waiting for your life to happen, your life is already happening and waiting for you.

The day is waiting. Your life is waiting.

The things that we would be asking ourselves is, "What proportion of my day am I in vibrational harmony with my desires, which means, how much of my day am I happy, glad, eager, fulfilled, satisfied, complimentary? And what percentage of my day am I ornery, irritated, frustrated, or blaming?"

And you don't have to do 100%, you don't have to do 90%, you don't have to do 80%. If you could even get around 55% feeling better, than not feeling so good -- you'd have significant movement in what begins to happen in your experience.

When thought is active, can there be compassion?

What does it mean to be compassionate? Not merely verbally, but actually to be compassionate?

Is compassion a matter of habit, of thought, a matter of the mechanical repetition of being kind, polite, gentle, tender?

Can the mind which is caught in the activity of thought with its conditioning, its mechanical repetition, be compassionate at all?

It can talk about it, it can encourage social reform, be kind to the poor heathen and so on; but is that compassion? When thought dictates, when thought is active, can there be any place for compassion?

Compassion being action without motive, without self-interest, without any sense of fear, without any sense of pleasure.

Once the person is drawn to the Divine, the process of Culturing begins.

Without this, the individual is fallow and feeble. He has no dignity or personality. A worthless steel lump is transformed by skilful manipulation and reconstruction into a watch that is worth several units of money. This is the result of Culturing, which turned a steel lump into an useful tool for indicating time.

In a similar manner, one can be transformed into a noble, efficient, happy and disciplined member of the society by implanting in him/her good thoughts, good feelings, good deeds and good emotions. Such transformed persons will spontaneously engage themselves in the task of promoting human welfare. They will be promoters of the ideals of the brotherhood of the man and the fatherhood of the Divine.

A World Full of Artists

An artist doesn't just stare at a blank canvas and hope it paints itself, nor does an artist hire someone to paint their painting for them. An artist has an idea in mind (or heart or soul) and sets out joyously to create his or her painting; an internal idea to be expressed in external form.

You'll never hear a true artist bemoaning the work it takes to create their painting. It's the process of painting that drives the artist to wake up in the morning. It's not about the finished product, the end result. While the vision of the finished product may drive them too, it's the journey along the way that really fulfills them and enriches their lives.

It is in the process of painting where art happens. It is in the process that the artist is creating, evolving, becoming and expanding. Once the painting is finished (that is, once the vision has been fulfilled), the artist is on to a new painting, a new vision.

And so it is with life. We are all artists creating our own life paintings. It is in the process of creating where our life happens.
