All-American Stocks to Buy: Lockheed Martin (LMT)
Market Cap: $60 billion
What’s more American than fighter jets?
I’ll accept “fighter jets and cheeseburgers” … but for some reason, Lockheed Martin (LMT) and McDonald’s haven’t merged yet. (Not enough synergies, I guess.)
The highest-profile project on Lockheed’s table right now is a $391 billion F-35 contract with the U.S. military — a contract billed to eventually produce a fleet of 2,443 F-35s.
The first 10 jets are scheduled to be tested for operational readiness in mid-July.
Lockheed also is developing futuristic, blimp-like “hybrid” aircraft that will be able to transport oil and mining equipment to and from remote areas without easily accessible roads or with too much treacherous terrain.
Expected to be approved by the FAA in 2017, these airships have sparked strong initial demand, and Lockheed could begin making deliveries by 2018.
LMT stock is up 17% in the last year and pays a solid, 3.1% dividend.

THIS 'OFFENSE' GIANT KEEPS CHUGGING ALONG The market has slowed down significantly over the past couple of months... but the bull market in government spending is still on. Just look at today's chart of elite "offense" contractor Lockheed Martin (LMT) for proof.
Longtime readers know our stance on the defense sector. In short, our government is involved in so many foreign wars and spends so much money that it should be called the "offense" industry.
Giant defense firm Lockheed produces things like jet fighters, missiles, radar systems, and unmanned aerial drones. Its business relies almost entirely on government spending... and its performance over the past few years shows that spending hasn't slowed down.
As you can see in the chart below, the stock is locked into a steady, long-term uptrend. Shares have climbed nearly 120% over the past three years. And Lockheed is still rising despite the recent market selloff.
The stock is up almost 10% since July, while the S&P 500 is down more than 8%. As long as the U.S. government continues to spend, "offense" contractors like Lockheed will keep rising.

One of the Best Stocks to Buy Before a Recession Hits
"'Must-have' investments are companies making products that are tapped into trillions of dollars in spending that make them as recession-proof as possible," said Fitz-Gerald.
"What's more, because they provide services that draw their demand from human nature's roots themselves, there will be a market for them, in good times and bad, for as long as civilization itself is around."
That's why now he likes the massive defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) as recession insurance for 2016.
Created from a merger between two aerospace companies in 1995, Lockheed Martin is one of the world's leading corporations in the aerospace, defense, security, and technology industry.
Lockheed only dipped an average of 30% entering the Great Recession, beating the average losses of the S&P 500 by 10% during the same period.
Since 2008, Lockheed has gained over 250% to where it sits today, at $216 per share. That's over 100 points higher than the price it was averaging right before the Great Recession.
Lockheed benefits from the $580 billion annual U.S. defense budget that our politicians hate to cut, according to Fitz-Gerald.
Unlike most other companies, Lockheed's extensive work with the U.S. and foreign governments means that its profit margins are "baked in" at 7.8%, according to Fitz-Gerald.
In other words, by working with governments, Lockheed has an almost guaranteed demand for its services. That assures it maintains a strong profit margin, even when times get tough.
As the world gets more dangerous, Lockheed profits. And – sad but true – it looks like times are only getting worse as tensions in the Middle East and terrorist threats escalate. In fact, Lockheed just extended a huge $60 million contract with the U.S. Navy on Feb. 25, which sent its stock up 2% the following day.
And we expect Lockheed to land plenty more deals like this in the coming months, as the United States ramps up its military efforts in the Middle East.
Another reason to consider Lockheed as recession insurance is because of its dividend, which it has raised every year since 2003. The $0.12 quarterly dividend it had in 2003 is now $1.65. That's an increase of $1,275% in 13 years.
"Management has a history of dramatically increasing payouts," Fitz-Gerald said in support of Lockheed Martin stock. "Plus, the company is tapped into what I like to call an Unstoppable Trend – War, Terrorism, and Ugliness. That's one of the biggest Unstoppable Trends of all."

Trump Can’t Keep Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) Stock DownThis premier defense contractor is definitely a buy on the dip
By Louis Navellier
There’s another piece to Lockheed Martin that makes it very compelling here — its recently acquired Sikorsky helicopter division.
If a massive new fighter jet program like the F-35 is a home run for a defense contractor, helicopters are the consistent base hits. There are far more of these deployed around the world than fixed-wing aircraft. They are the workhorses in all theaters of operation. They move people and things in and out of forward bases, remote settings and, most importantly, trouble.
Of the approximately 37 military/homeland security/rescue helicopters in production, 16 are built by Sikorsky. Before its acquisition, Lockheed had six helicopters in that 37. Now, Lockheed has 22 of the 37 major production helicopters in the world.
