How to Dodge This Historic Market Bubble

by Jody Chudley

In diagnosing this bubble, Grantham points to extreme overvaluation, explosive price increases, frenzied stock issuances and hysterically speculative investor behavior.

Grantham’s favorite stat on Tesla’s overvaluation is that the market values the company at $1.25 million per car sold.

That is a wee bit more than the $9,000 per car sold that General Motors‘ (NYSE: GM) valuation reflects.

He believes that value stocks have never been more attractively valued relative to growth stocks.

He notes that emerging markets are at 50-year valuation lows relative to U.S. stocks.

My Plan? To Ride the Current ‘Melt Up’ Trend, Then Step Aside Before It’s Discredited

by Dr. Steve Sjuggerud

Simply put, we’re reaching the point where the “Greater Fool Theory” kicks in… when the only reason someone buys a stock is because they think a greater fool will come along and pay them a higher price for their stock.

It’s not about the fundamentals of the economy or the business – it’s sheer excitement.

My plan is to do just that… ride the current trend… and then step aside before it’s discredited. I hope you’ll do the same.

How To Invest In A Down Market

Market sell-offs are generally not a good time to sell or rebalance.
Recognize you are likely to make emotional decisions right now.

For the pessimists, the right time to buy is almost never. Too bad for them, because they are missing out on one the most fantastic ways to create wealth over a lifetime. I'm talking about long-term investing in equities.

Five ways to prepare for a stock market crash:
1. Ask yourself how much drawdown you can cope with.
2. Make sure you have the cash you need.
3. Build a portfolio that suits your risk profile.
4. Build a wish list of stocks to buy on sale.
5. Write down your strategy.

What is critical to do when the market crashes:
1. Don't panic.
2. Stay the course.
3. Focus on the long term.

These are the top 10 stock market themes for 2021 and beyond: Schroders

by David Philpotts

1. Good news already in the price; Three headwinds: high valuations, lack of room for interest rates to fall significantly, and high government debt burdens.

2. Significant opportunity for value to rebound

3. Expensive growth bubble may deflate

4. US market at most expensive level for five decades

5. Emerging Asia cheaply valued with good growth prospects

6. Higher inflation is a short-term risk

7. Healthcare sector looks cheap

8. Environmentally focused investing is here to stay

9. Social considerations increasingly important

10. Thematic investing and “value indifferent” investors

Global Strategy - Recovery underway: Beneficiaries of inflation

As economies recover from the pandemic (albeit with different trajectories), we are starting to see signs of rising prices.

For instance, March’s consumer price index (CPI) report showed US inflation starting to pick up.

Although structural disinflationary forces remain in place, due to bottleneck pressures related to Covid-19 supply chain issues and base effects, investors should not be surprised to see inflation expectations overshoot over the coming months as inflation fears could continue to escalate.

Against such a backdrop, we identify beneficiaries of inflation with many of them unsurprisingly in the Energy, Materials and Real Estate sectors (hard assets), though there are also names in other sectors as well.

The list of stocks below has upside from current levels, and valuations are still not stretched, in our view.
