Postby iam802 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 12:17 pm

I found out about this from my daughter's ballet teacher (who is sacrificing her very long hair).

Children's Cancer Foundation, http://www.ccf.org.sg/hfh/index.php , is raising fund next week.

Volunteers will be shaving their head to help raise funds (or increase awareness).

Anyone here a Crisis Volunteer with the Home Team? If so, what's the experience like?

I have to ask it.

What is a Home Team Crisis Volunteer?

First time I heard of this term.

when S-League Home United (the Home Team) gets thrashed by Queenstown Secondary School boys in the game of soccer...that's a crisis...and the volunteer is there to hand out water bottle and administer magic sprays on tackled legs...

Basically like a volunteer that Home can call upon in emergencies, e.g. like if something serious happens, these volunteers can be called upon to help out... Several roles available, appealing to your skills / field of expertise.

I'm now an inactive Civil Defence NSMan, and received this letter inviting me to join (totally voluntary). Just wanted to see if there are others out there who've been involved in their training or discussion sessions before, who can share their experiences on how it's like (time commitments, organization/leadership capabilities, etc.)
