Apple announced 3Q23 results that beat expectations.

Revenue was US$81.8bn (down 1% YoY) vs est. US$81.7bn, while EPS came in at US$1.26 vs est. US$1.19.

The result beat was mainly driven by stronger Services segment, which grew by 8% YoY.

Sales of iPhone fell by 2% YoY, with Mac and iPad also faced declines.

The company expects 4Q23 YoY performance to be similar to the 3Q23, suggesting that revenue would come in at around US$89.3bn.

However, Apple expects iPhone sales to drop less than 2% YoY, while Services growth would be even higher in the current quarter.

This Stock’s Pullback is a Golden Opportunity

by Thomas Niel

Last quarter, Services revenue grew by 8%, suggesting that a growth resurgence with this high-margin segment may be starting to take shape.

iPhone, Mac, and iPad sales did decline compared to the prior year’s quarter.

A retreat to between $150 and $175 per share isn’t out of the question. If this happens, consider it high time to pounce.

Apple has set Sep 12 as the date for its biggest product-upgrade event of the year, when it’s set to unveil the iPhone 15 line and next-generation smartwatches.

The company announced the plans on its website and via e-mail under the tagline “Wonderlust”.

The presentation will be streamed online at 10.00 am Pacific, with an accompanying event at Apple’s Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

Apple is under more pressure than usual with this iPhone launch.

Its sales have slid for three straight quarters as the company contends with shaky demand for smartphones and other devices.

The new products should help restore growth this holiday season – Apple’s biggest sales period of the year.

Together, the iPhone and Apple Watch bring in the majority of the tech giant’s revenue.

Apple just made an acquisition that will give it a massive foothold in this new industry

by JENA WARBURTON

The largest company in the world, which is set to release a lineup of new iPhones at its annual event on September 12, has made no secret about its attempts to enter and disrupt the media and entertainment sphere.

It's estimated that 1.46 billion people are active iPhone users -- and given that there are eight billion people in the world, that means roughly 1 in every 8 earth dwellers uses an iPhone.

Apple is dipping its proverbial toe into the Music space now too, buying Swedish classical music record label BIS Records.

"Taiwanese contract electronics giant Hon Hai Precision, which is Apple’s main assembler, earlier this week reported August sales down 12% m/m and 8% y/y, a 5-month low. All of this paints a gloomy picture right before the iPhone 15 launch." - UBS
