Will Tesla Shares Rally If Musk Steps Down From Twitter?

by KATE STALTER

Key Points

The stock is down 57.35% so far this year, with many analysts attributing at least part of the decline to Musk being distracted with his purchase of Twitter.

Regulatory filings show that on December 14, after the closing bell, Elon Musk sold almost 22 million Tesla shares between December 12 and 14, for a value of $3.58 billion.

Senator Elizabeth Warren sent a letter to Tesla's board chair asking if Musk was creating conflicts of interest and misappropriating corporate assets.

Tesla's third-largest individual investor said he believes Musk should resign from his role at Tesla.

One prominent analyst expects Musk to resign from Twitter and re-focus his attention on the EV maker.

I guess this is the best explanation why Tesla share price goes up and down....there might be a rebound soon, might be a chance to get out for those who are stuck....

Not vested.

People tend to invent bullish narratives to fit price action and no more so with #TSLA. What they overlooked, after YEARS of range trading is what really drove it higher was Fed QE. Now after a classic bubble we bust! Obvious targets the gaps all the way down to $43.46!
https://mobile.twitter.com/JulianMI2/st ... 9059596288

Per my last tweet, we have essentially closed the first gap on the Tesla chart at $137.50. But I'm intrigued by the log chart. As you can see on the way up #TSLA traded in clear bands. If we do the same on the way down, the next target is $112 and then $65!

Potential #SwingTrade level on #Tesla $TSLA at gap fill $137 for a technical bounce. Chart is oversold, RSI well below 30, starting to look for a bounce.

These Will Be The Best 10 Stocks In 2023, Analysts Say

by MATT KRANTZ

For Tesla, analysts think the stock will rise nearly 80% in the next 12 months.

That would be a welcome rally for a stock down 58% this year.

Tesla, too, has plenty of growth behind it. Analysts think the company's adjusted profit per share will jump more than 80% this year on more than 50% higher revenue of $83.3 billion.

And it's not just a lucky year. Analysts think Tesla's adjusted profit will rise another 37% in 2023.

It's not easy to find S&P 500 companies posed to grow in a year possibly heading into a recession.

Big auto 'blinking' seen as Tesla buying opportunity by Morgan Stanley

By Sam Boughedda

Overweight rating and $330 price target on Tesla shares.

Tesla has shed $600 billion of value in just three months.

Look for Tesla to use its cost and scale advantage as a competitive force continued. Tesla's price cuts started in China and we expect them to quickly spread to Europe and the US.

While circular in nature, lower EV prices are important for the next leg of mass adoption but depress the returns of many of the companies expected to compete against Tesla.

Tesla's Market Share

During 2020 and 2021, Tesla nearly doubled its global EV market share to more than 18%.

As of June 2022, Tesla’s global EV market share stood at just 13.7%.

Global unit sales have risen nearly 300%, from 2.4 million cars in June 2020 to 9.3 million cars in June 2022.

Between 2023 and 2025, Tesla’s global EV market share will dwindle below 10%… And other EV stocks will have the opportunity to soar as they gobble up Tesla’s market share. Lucid, Rivian, and Fisker are three such EV stocks.

Tesla sends Shanghai boss and aides to jumpstart US output

Under Zhu, Tesla Shanghai rebounded strongly from lockdowns this year to bring Tesla close to its growth target for 2022 of 50 per cent production growth. Analysts expect output to fall short at closer to 45 per cent, based on forecasts for the just-concluding fourth quarter.

Among the projects, the Shanghai team have worked on is Tesla’s long-delayed Cybertruck, its next new model.
