Amazon announced the latest version of its Fire 7 tablet on Wednesday.

At $59.99, the tablet is slightly more expensive than its predecessor, but the company is promising longer battery life.

Amazon’s Fire tablets have served as a cheaper alternative to Apple’s iPad, but it isn’t a huge business segment for Amazon the way hardware is for Apple.

Instead, Amazon’s hardware products serve as a gateway into Amazon’s ecosystem of services, such as the Alexa voice assistant and music, books and apps.

The last version of the Fire 7 didn’t have great battery life, and the screen and camera weren’t very sharp.

Amazon said the new model has a 40% longer battery life, for up to 10 hours of browsing but that it didn’t make any changes to the display or camera.

Amazon.com said on Wednesday (May 25) it had opened its first brick-and-mortar clothing retail store, as people start to venture out to shop following easing Covid-19 curbs.

The store, Amazon Style, located in Los Angeles, will use machine-learning technology to help customers find clothes and personalise recommendations.

Customers shopping on the Amazon app will also have the option to try out their selections at the physical store, and will be notified on the fitting room's availability.

Refining Our Technical Strategy for Amazon

By BRUCE KAMICH

The charts and indicators of AMZN are currently uninspiring.

AMZN could bounce further to the upside or it could dip to retest the $2200-$2100 area.

On the upside the $2,800 area could act as resistance.

I don't have a strong conviction at this point in time.

Amazon Stock: Our ‘Best Idea,’ Says J.P. Morgan

Continued supply chain and inflationary pressures amidst slowing consumer discretionary spending and the impact of the economy’s reopening, have all impeded the sector’s growth.

Amazon makes further headway in “key under-penetrated categories” such as grocery, CPG, apparel & accessories, & furniture/appliances/equipment.

The workforce has almost doubled to 1.6 million, while the fulfillment network is now twice as large.

This year’s fulfillment capex would be lower than last year, while transport capex should also come in “flat to slightly down.”

Of the 38 reviews on file, 36 are to Buy, making the consensus view on this stock a Strong Buy with the average target of $3,603.

Can Amazon Go to $140 After Stock Split? What the Chart Says

by DANIEL KUHN AND KATHERINE ROSS

We're moving higher off of-- after that split now. That low level was about $102 to $103 split-adjusted.

And we think that the stock has got some room to get up to about $140, which would fill that gap from the earnings drop back in April.

So I like this. It's constructive. It's not overbought here at all. Good volume trends here, positive money flow, the stochastics are really good. And I think Amazon's got some legs to it here.
