At present price of 25 cents, yield of more than 4%. Last year 1st half earnings of $7m and zero earnings for 2nd half due to $9m provision. If not 2nd half earnings would be $9m, bringing a total $16m for the year. Looking at 1Q2021, the freight rates are double of last year period, so most probably 1st half would be comparable if not better than last year. As for 2nd half, it should beat last year zero earnings if there is no provision. So probably next year(FY2021) earnings and dividend will be higher.

Samudera earned us6.83 cents in 1st half. That's about 9 Singapore cents. In their latest report they said that they would add 9 ships in 2021, with 3 in 1st half and right now 7 in operation. With the remaining 2 in 4q2021. If freight rates continue to be elevated, that meant earnings for 2nd half will likely be more than 1st half. If we assume 2nd half earnings to be same as 1st half, then earnings will be 18 cents. That is a PE of 2.5 at current share price

Samudera's parent company Samudera Indonesia earnings are out.

My rough estimate is 3q earnings for samudera shipping is almost 1q and 2q earnings combined..

To summed it..... Samudera Indonesia earnings for 9 months is us$77.9m while earnings for 1st half is us$37.3m

For 9 months, my estimate calculation for Samudera is about 17 cents per share.. probably make about 8 cents in 3q with 9 cents for the 1st half.

Looking at the present freight rates, Samudera probably will earn around another 8 cents for 4q hence a total of 25 cents for the year.

At present share price of 55 cents....it is around PE of 2.2
