What does the Divine really want from you and me?
Concentrate on the love of the Divine. Although one’s mother, father and preceptor are to be adored as divine beings, they are not Him.
The Divine should be worshipped as mother, father, preceptor, kinsman, and friend. They all dwell in their respective abodes but He dwells in your heart.
Love the Lord who resides in your heart. All other objects of love are impermanent.
By developing love, one sees the Divine in all beings. It is like wearing coloured glasses.
If you see the world through the glasses of love, you will see love everywhere. The glasses and vision must be in harmony and only with love, you can see loveliness in the world.
It is through love that noble qualities such as kindness, compassion and empathy are fostered.
You are carrying on a variety of spiritual exercises (sadhanas). The Divine does not seek your sadhana. Nor does He seek your devotion. He seeks only your love.
- Divine Discourse, July 9, 1998.
There is no greater spiritual path than the path of love.
