SINGAPORE - The reputation of our local banks have taken a hit in light of the recent cases of card skimming fraud at DBS and POSB ATMs, said Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.

Speaking to Shin Min News Daily reporters at a community event at Yishun, Mr Shanmugam said the incident has also shaken consumers' confidence in the bank's anti-fraud measures, and rightfully so.

He said moving forward, banks will have to reassure customers that the ATM services are secure and that such an incident will not happen in the future.

DBS in Sovereign Wealth Fund Tie-Up for Private Banking Product

DBS Group Holdings Ltd. (DBS) will announce a tie-up with a sovereign wealth fund for a private equity product that will be available to its private banking clients, said Su Shan Tan, head of wealth management at the bank.

She did not give the name of the state fund. Temasek Holdings Pte, Singapore’s state-owned investment company, is the bank’s biggest shareholder with a 27 percent stake, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
