Not vested. Go Go Go S-Chips ...

Singapore Exchange said it is bringing in tougher corporate governance rules at the end of September, requiring companies to disclose more information about their internal controls and legal representatives.

RESEARCH ALERT-CIMB cuts SGX target to S$5.93

SINGAPORE, Oct 12 (Reuters) - CIMB Research has cut its target price for Singapore Exchange (SGX) to S$5.93 from S$8.14 and kept its neutral rating.

STATEMENT: CIMB has lowered its fiscal 2012-2014 average daily turnover assumptions by 16-18 percent to account for lower trading volumes during a recession.

"A long-drawn recession is SGX's bane. Although SGX benefits from current volatility, volumes suffer in a protracted recession when market interest peters out," said CIMB in a report.

However, the brokerage noted that SGX's current share price has factored in the anticipated market lethargy, but downside risks still remain.

At 0155 GMT, shares of SGX were 0.8 percent lower at S$6.19, and have fallen about 28.5 percent since the start of the year.

Singapore Exchange - More than one way to grow income (BUY, $6.29 - TP $7.80, SGXL.SI / SGX SP, Finance)

Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced a very good set of numbers for 1QFY Jun12.

Though securities daily average trading value (SDAV) stayed flattish as expected, revenue from the other sources grew by 21% YoY and 10% QoQ.

This clearly illustrates that there is a structural growth story to SGX outside of the volatility of market trading conditions. Maintain BUY.

Singapore Hot Stocks-SGX down on worries over MF Global

SINGAPORE, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Shares of Singapore Exchange (SGX) , Asia's second-largest listed bourse, fell as much as 2.9 percent on Wednesday, on worries that the bankruptcy of U.S. brokerage firm MF Global could hurt its trading volumes.

At 0230 GMT, shares of SGX were 2.1 percent lower at S$6.39 percent, underperforming the benchmark Straits Times Index's <.FTSTI> 0.8 percent loss.

"MF Global is a big clearing member and it'll definitely affect trading volumes in the short term.

It may not be as big here as in the U.S. or Australia, but there's still exposure," said a local trader.

SGX said on Monday it had told MF Global's Singapore unit not to take any more derivative positions and to reduce existing positions.

It said the brokerage was also meeting its financial obligations to the exchange's clearing house.

MF Global, which filed for bankruptcy in the United States on Monday, said its Singapore unit has appointed KPMG to oversee the winding down of the company.
