A super-simple way to lower your risk of many cancers by Dr. David Eifrig in

Drink green tea three times a week, to lower your risk of digestive cancers.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition recently published a study that found women who drank three cups of green tea a week, were 14% less likely to suffer from stomach, colon, and throat cancers.

Women who kept this routine for 20 years saw a 20% drop.

The anticancer properties likely come from the antioxidant epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG).

Green tea also lowers your risk of prostate cancer, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer.

Back Pain

Remember our mothers - “Always sit up straight,” right?

Well, a recent study by Scottish researchers shows it’s one of the worst things you can do for your back.

They found that sitting at a 90-degree angle puts pressure on your lower back.

In fact, the pressure is strong enough to squeeze fluid out of the discs that cushion your vertebrae.

So what is the best way to sit? According to research, you should adjust you chair height until your hips are 3 to 4 inches higher than your knees. Then you should recline slightly so your back is at a 135-degree angle to your thighs.

You can put a small pillow behind your lower back for added support

Liver

You probably have no idea what shape your liver is in. Most of us don't. Symptoms of liver problems usually go undetected – until they reach a crisis stage.

The crisis is called NASH. That's nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. It's the serious inflammation stage between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cirrhosis. Just beyond that is liver failure.

But let's not go there. Let's back up to the beginning.

As I've often mentioned, NAFLD is a silent disease. It's characterized by excess belly fat. But there are no symptoms. Not at first, anyway. There's no pain. So it often progresses to NASH undetected.

There are two ways to avoid NAFLD and NASH.

First, exercise regularly and avoid junk food – especially foods with added sugars.

Second, take a vitamin E supplement.

A new study shows that E supplementation reduces triglyceride fat in the liver. That's huge. Triglyceride accumulation is what gets NAFLD started in the first place.

E supplements also inhibit liver scarring. That's also huge. Scarring leads to cirrhosis and liver failure.

This animal study confirms human research I told you about two years ago. Researchers gave 250 NASH patients 800 IU of E daily for two years.

NASH markers improved significantly in more than 40 percent of subjects.

If you're taking a good quality E supplement (with mixed tocopherols), you're already doing your liver a world of good.

But it does take the determination that you're going to put your thoughts upon something that does feel good.

And so, here we're going to make a very bold statement: any disease could be healed in a matter of days, any disease, if distraction from it could occur and a different vibration dominate—and the healing time is about how much mix-up there is in all of that.

New research reveals one of the world's fastest ways to destroy your health by Dr. David Eifrig

Just having two bad nights of sleep in a row can harm your health... according to a new study from the University of Birmingham.

Researchers found that sleep deprivation for two consecutive nights showed a decrease in breathing control (irregular breathing) and reduced vascular function (stiff blood vessels). After five nights of 10 hours of sleep, the negative effects were reversed.

But if you regularly lack a good night's sleep, these dangerous effects could be more permanent – raising your risk of cardiovascular disease and sleep apnea.

Regular readers know that getting at least seven hours of sleep each night is one of the most important things to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle. To get the best night's sleep, keep your room cool and dark... and free of electronics. If you can't get at least seven straight hours of sleep a night, take a nap during the day.

Take your Vitamins by Tina Hayes

Taking a multivitamin daily could help slow arterial aging.

Both vitamin C and vitamin E appear to be important to the health of your arteries.

Studies show that adequate intakes of these antioxidant vitamins are associated with a significant reduction of arterial disease.

Try to get about 400 IU of vitamin E per day and about 1,200 milligrams of vitamin C per day through food and vitamin supplements.

Strut your Stuff

Taking a 30 minute brisk walk three times a week, will lower your blood pressure significantly.

In a recent study of a group of caregivers walking the allotted amount produced a beneficial effect on their blood pressure.

The participants who walked 30 to 40 minutes at least three times a week experienced a reduction in their blood pressure that was stress-induced.

Smoking

If you smoke, I don't have to tell you that quitting is the best thing you can do for your health.

But you can do something else for yourself while you're kicking the habit. Despite its reputation as a villain, supplementing with vitamin E might restore your health faster.

In a new study, longtime smokers kicked their habits while taking gamma-tocopherol or a placebo. Gamma is one of the four tocopherol forms of vitamin E. Subjects took 500 mg daily.

The benefits were huge.

In the E group, researchers found significant improvement in flow-mediated dilation. This is a measure of blood vessel function.

That, in turn, reduced heart disease risk by about 20 percent more than the placebo group. Also, two markers for inflammation declined further in the E group than the placebo group.

The takeaway here is that there's a simple, safe way to erase a lot of the damage smoking has done over the years. So even people who thought "It's too late to matter," have a new reason to quit.
