How to Develop a Positive Mental Attitude in Order to Achieve Everlasting Success! By Steve Betsworth

As an emotion, faith is among the strongest and is a state of mind that mostly effects the subconscious mind. This is important when it comes to putting your thoughts into action in everyday life. If you set yourself a task but are lacking the faith in yourself to complete it, then subconsciously you are accepting defeat as inevitable. However, if you are able to convince yourself subconsciously that you can achieve what you set out to do, then your efforts will be boosted and the results will reaffirm your self belief and strengthen your faith.

It is difficult for people to strengthen faith if they are lacking it. However, it is achievable and is done by a process which involves encouraging positive thoughts and emotions in the subconscious mind rather than negative ones. This can be more clearly understood if you take a moment to think about how people fall into negative habits such as alcoholism. When a drinker remembers their first ever drink they will more than likely say they did not enjoy it. After becoming accustomed to drinking regularly and enduring the bad side effects they eventually start to embrace alcohol and eventually begin to rely on it. This example suggests that if thought impulses of any kind are repeated and encouraged then that person will seek to express those thoughts through their actions. If the thoughts are positive and result in constructive actions then faith may be strengthened.

If thoughts are backed by strong emotions such as faith and love then they have more chance of being expressed through actions. Therefore your actions can be affected by any strong emotion whether it is positive and productive or negative and destructive. If you are to become successful in whatever goals you have set yourself in life then you need to avoid negative emotions and encourage positive ones. As a consequence you will acquire a subconscious mind that will start to act upon all the positive emotions including faith.

One of the most common causes of a lack of faith is low self confidence. This can be over come through a similar process to the one just mentioned. If you take the time to write down all your positive experiences and attributes and then read these to yourself daily, you will find that the repeated positive affirmations will reassure you of your accomplishments subconsciously and restore faith. The following few principles outline methods to help with faith and self confidence.

Firstly you need to realize that you have the ability to meet your main objectives in life. This means you need to be persistent at all times in chasing your aims even when there are signs of initial failure.

Secondly you must spend some time in the day just thinking positively about yourself and where you want to go in life. A mind dominated by positive thoughts will eventually express desirable physical actions

Thirdly you should have your ultimate dream goal written down and you must promise yourself that you will never give up trying to achieve that goal even if you are not, at that time, confident enough, you will be eventually.

Fourthly you should take advantage of others to achieve your goals. You will be able to succeed by putting the hard work in yourself which will make the rewards all the more sweeter. A negative attitude to people will not bring success. However, by making others believe in your ability you will reaffirm your self belief.

Repeat these principles and you will find that you are able to increasingly influence your subconscious mind. This process of positive thinking has been called auto-suggestion and is a key to the success of many. In short if you think that you will fail then it is likely that you will, but if you convince yourself that you will succeed then you have more chance of doing so. The people that win in today's world are the ones that know they can.

Take your Inner Being everywhere you go. If you take your Inner Being to the party, it's going to be a good party! If you take your Inner Being, the food that you eat will be received perfectly by the cells of your body.

Every word that comes out of your mouth will be beneficial to everyone who hears them with their ears, or with their vibration. Don't go anywhere without your Inner Being. That's what "Allowing" is. Always having your Inner Being present. And then, anything else that happens is always orchestrated perfectly by Law of Attraction.

You'll See It When You Believe It by Mike Brescia

----------------------------------
Today's Empowering Quote
----------------------------------

"Doubts are more cruel than the worst of truths."
-Moliere

----------------------------------
Today's Empowering Question
----------------------------------

"What could I and should I be absolutely certain about?"

----------------------------------
Today's Fast Session
----------------------------------

I talk a lot about momentum and belief in yourself... getting on a positive roll. Because if you believe that you can do something, you often miraculously get some otherworld ability to do it... even if you've never done it before. And if you fall down in your attempt, if you believe that the slip up was nothing more than a delay instead of a denial, then you'll get back up and keep going.

Sometimes, if the flame grows bright enough, even the very casual observer can notice a change in someone that switches from lack of belief to out and out passion for success.

If you're not a sports fan, read the rest of this letter and ignore the sports references. It's actually a discussion about our topic... BELIEF!

Last night I watched the NBA playoff game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Bucks were
up by 16 points! It was looking to be a blowout...

...But the 76ers never lost their belief. Their top scorer, Allen Iverson, was having possibly the worst scoring night of his life, but he was an animal on defense.

Their coach, Larry Brown, was imploring them to believe. Sure he talked X's and O's. I mean, they had to run plays. But he was jumping up and down on the court. Pleading with his team to keep up the pressure, to run down every loose ball, to make every pass as important as if it were the last one of the game.

Nothing but emotion.
He knew they could do it...

...as long as they didn't lose their faith.

He knew that they were as good as the other team. He didn't have to explain the basics of basketball. He knew his only job was to keep their heads in the game.

So did he get down on them when they made bad passes?
Nope. He said, "C'mon. That's not like you. You can do this!"

They responded.

They started to believe. By the 4th quarter they had tied it up 63-63. The crowd was going crazy.

Momentum. It's nothing but emotion.

When things go right they tend to stay going right, don't they? But when things go wrong, the same rule applies, huh?

The interesting thing in the game was that as the emotion was exploding for the 76ers, the Bucks suddenly became doubters... missing shots, making bad passes, and worst of all, making stupid fouls out of anger. Their first half smiles turned into angry scowls. It was an incredible thing to watch. They had completely lost their belief in themselves.

It was an amazing display of momentum shift and a great example of how powerful a force it is in life.

Philadelphia responded to all those fouls the Bucks were making to hit 22 free throws in a row... and won 89-88.

A big lesson here is that you can have a lot of things going wrong and still get your outcome... if you don't give up.

Had the Bucks made just one more pass, or just one more basket, or if they had made just one less stupid foul out of frustration, they would have won.

When I was selling face to face every day, it was often at the last second, when I had emptied my mind and giving my
prospect EVERY reason I could think of why they should get my solution that they finally said, "Well, all right. You sure do believe that you can help me. So I'll do it."

It's at that point in my life that I learned that I should never give up. Never, Never, Never. Ever.

If you can only take today...

...And get yourself to believe in your ability to do whatever it is you're doing a little faster, a little better, and with a little more enthusiasm, momentum will shift in your favor. Watch it work.

Soon YOU'LL go from the scowl to the winning smile.

Success and happiness always starts between your own two ears. Don't wait. Begin right now and throw that smile
on, and keep thinking all day, I can. I can. I can.

Every hour. "I can."

Eating lunch. "I can."

Before you pick up the phone. "I can."

...And you will.

How to Know If You'll Reach the Goal - By Leslie Householder ***

Setting and achieving a goal is as simple as placing an online order. If you perform each step in the order process, you can be certain that the thing you want is on its way.

Suppose I've set a goal to sell 20 widgets during the month of November. I'll compare the online bookstore (where I recently purchased an antique copy of "As a Man Thinketh") to Life's Distribution System.

1. Decide What You Want.
Just as I can't expect the bookstore to send me a book before submitting my request, neither should you expect clients who will support a vague sales goal. Pick the dollar figure you want to reach so that life can deliver the right clients.

2. Put it in Writing.
Before I could place the order for the book, I had to find the right order page for that book. However, before I could find the right order page, I had to type the right key terms into the search bar. Wouldn't it have been absurd if I had entered "not Catcher in the Rye, not anything written by Poe..." in my search for "As a Man Thinketh"? Even if the search feature was smart enough to exclude all of that, how long would it take me to get to the book I want? Precision saves time. Write what you want, and be as precise as you can.

Don't talk about "getting out of debt" when you really mean that you want "financial freedom." We must choose our search terms carefully so that we can be taken to the right order page of life. You're not looking for the "debt" order page, so quit using that term!

Vague orders bring vague results, and so we never see the connection between our requests and what shows up. Too often we're placing careless orders unknowingly and then wonder why life doesn't go the way we want it to go.

Now, commit to the thing you want by putting it in writing. It's like entering it into an imaginary search box. It's the fastest way to get to the right order page. Write it in present tense as though it has already happened.

So, maybe your written statement will say, "November 30th, 2008: I have now sold 20 widgets." Getting it in writing takes you to Life's "order page"... but you're not done yet. Neither the book nor the clients are on their way until you've completed the entire order process.

3. Add to Cart.
In my book buying experience, after entering "As a Man Thinketh" in the search tool, it took me to a long list of different books. Some were brand new reprints; some were from the 1980's. I spent some time narrowing them down, until I found the one that I wanted, which was more than 100 years old. Then, after identifying my specific choice, I clicked "Add to Cart." This is a logical step; after all, I can't expect the store to ship the book until I have told them precisely which one I want.

This step is comparable to adding detail to your goal statement. You need to spend time creating a more detailed description of the thing you desire. Instead of "November 30th, 2008: I have now sold 20 widgets," you write, "November 30th, 2008: I am so happy and grateful now that I have sold 20 widgets. I am astounded at how easily the clients came into my life. I am grateful that I was able to provide them something of great value that will help them accomplish their objectives for a price that was fair. We are establishing a positive relationship and expect to do more business together in the future."

Do this step, and you have just added your desired thing to the big Cart in the Sky.

4. Enter Your Shipping Address.
After the book was in my shopping cart, I had to tell the store where to send it. This step assigns the book I want to the location where I am. It brings together two key pieces of information into one virtual place. Without this step, the bookstore cannot send me the book because they have no address for the package.

Goal setting is no different. Just as the book and my address had to merge into one database, the thing you want needs to be merged with your personal information, too. Notice that during this step, it isn't the actual book that came together with my actual house; it is simply a representation of the book that came together with a representation of my house.

The same needs to happen with a representation of the thing you want, and a representation of you. How? Picture it done in your mind. See yourself signing those final contracts. With the power of disciplined thoughts, you merge the thing you want, with the person you are. Your mind is the virtual database where it all must come together before the order is filled.

5. Receive Confirmation.
After I filled in my shipping address, it asked for my credit card info. This is where I "pay the price" for the thing I want.

In setting a sales goal, to "pay the price" traditionally refers to "pounding the pavement," "making the phone calls," "pulling late nights," "skipping lunches," etc.

But that's wrong. At least, it's wrong if you really want to prosper.

The last thing required before you receive the order confirmation is to allow yourself to experience the feelings you expect to feel when the goal is reached. It isn't easy to do, but you need to take your visualization exercise just one step further. Here's an example:

You're signing those final contracts, and shaking the customer's hands, and having the warm exchange of good will. Then you feel the elation well up inside your chest, and you escort them out of the room and close the door after they leave, and feel the cool, metal doorknob in your hand, and hear the heavy wooden door click shut. And you walk to your desk and sit down with a big, huge grin on your face, and tip back for a moment, then reach for the phone to call your spouse, and you hear the dial tones, and then you hear he/she answering, "Hello?" And with tears in your eyes, you tell him/her, "I did it! It was a miracle, but I did it! Let's go out for dinner tonight!" And your spouse screams on the other line and can hardly speak, and the kids are chattering in the background, "What? What's going on??"

That's your price. That's it. (Don't watch yourself doing it; BE yourself doing it. Don't be an outsider looking in; be in it where all you see of yourself is your arms on your armrests and your lap in front of you, and your feet way down there.)

If you spend some time generating those kinds of images in your mind and feel the exhilaration of success, you've done it. You've paid the price. And, as those feelings swell inside of you and as tears really well up in your eyes, that is your confirmation. Printing that receipt is optional by describing your assurance in this moment on paper, so you can look at it later as a hedge against doubt.

Trust Life to keep its promise, and go about your business in peace. No need for frantic rushing around, pushing, forcing; you've already paid the price. Go about your business with a calm assurance that it is already a done deal.

The right clients are on their way and will connect with you naturally as you go about your day-to-day activities. Spend time with your family. Enjoy a little recreation. Be at peace. In the right time, you'll have a thought to call so-n-so or follow up with someone else. Simply follow the thought. Do what it dictates. This is the final step:

6. Expect it to Come, and Open the Door.
After I made the payment, and I received my confirmation, the book was on its way. I needed only to expect it, watch for it, refrain from canceling it, and answer the door when it arrived.

As for your goal to sell 20 widgets, if you've gone through the entire order process and received confirmation, expect it, watch for it, refrain from canceling it with unbelief, and when opportunity knocks (because it will), simply answer the door. By faith it comes to you; by action you receive it.

The Dangers Of Self Limiting Beliefs By Warren Wojnowski

I came across an old issue of Howard Ruff's newsletter recently in which he described a terrifying event ... which, oddly enough, caused me to consider the very real dangers of self limiting beliefs we each hold within us.

Here's the quote from the newsletter -- see if you can make the connection:

"The crocodile attack that claimed the most human lives happened on February 19, 1945 when part of the Imperial Japanese Army unit guarding a stronghold on the Burmese island of Ramree was outmaneuvered by a British naval force.

The Japanese soldiers were forced to cross 10 miles of mangrove swamps to rejoin a larger battalion of the Japanese infantry. The swamps were home to thousands of 15-ft saltwater crocodiles. By the next morning, only 20 of the original 1,000 Japanese soldiers had survived."

Okay, I admit it, this may seem like a pretty odd connection to make. How does a crocodile attack in any way relate to self limiting beliefs and personal development?

So let me explain.

When I read this excerpt, I was astounded by the story. And it got me to thinking.

What are the crocodile infested swamps we need to navigate in our lives? What crocodile like obstacles must each of us become equipped to overcome if we want to achieve the freedom we seek?

I believe the ugliest and the baddest of the crocodiles are the crocodiles that lurk in our own minds.

Specifically, they are the self limiting beliefs and other thoughts that don't serve us, but which we insist on hanging onto.

I'm willing to bet that each of us has thousands of self limiting beliefs that we buy into every day. Often without even realizing that's what we are doing.

So what does it take then to be successful? Well, what did it take for the 20 surviving soldiers to successfully navigate their way across the mangroves?

To overcome the crocodiles, it's necessary to start from the end. Be larger than yourself in terms of vision and goals, trust in the magic of your belief, and then follow-through with unwavering persistence.

There is a magical moment when you finally really, really believe in what is possible for yourself and what you are able to achieve - well beyond what you may have previously considered.

This is often what you experience when you have "breakthrough" success in a new venture (be it a home business, a new project, venture or otherwise). You may have started out doing what you knew you had to do because you see an opportunity that is so attractive and because there is a process that makes logical sense to you.

But the tipping point comes when as the results begin manifesting, you are finally able to believe completely in what you can do and those lingering doubts vanish. You can see the progress you are making towards your goals and you create a vision larger than yourself that you believe unequivocally -- and that is when everything explodes exponentially.

Just imagine the degree of doubt those 20 surviving soldiers would have had to overcome and how impenetrable their belief in their ability to cross the mangroves had to be in order for them to survive. Consider what the spectacle of the feeding frenzy amongst the crocodiles must have looked and sounded like and the degree of fear and self limiting beliefs each soldier had to overcome. And think about the degree of commitment and follow-through that was necessary to make it to the other side. There was no room for hesitation - everything relied upon instant decisions and follow-through if they were to survive.

Just as few of the soldiers survived the crossing of the mangroves, few people ever survive the crossing of the swamps in their minds that enables them to live out their dreams.

But for those that do, it is the focus and vision that they have, the absolute belief in their vision that they carry, and the non-negotiable follow-through that they employ. These are the basic ingredients, available to each of us, which can be used to determine the thoughts we choose, the beliefs we foster, and the actions we take which ultimately will define the path to our own success.

There are tremendous opportunities and enormous waves of momentum that are out there to be ridden. Opportunities abound everywhere. But in order to catch a wave, each of us needs to be prepared to swim out to it.

It is our own vision, belief and follow-through that will determine which of us will get there.

If 20 Japanese soldiers were able to cross 10 miles of mangrove swamps and overcome thousands of crocodiles, while 980 comrades were eaten, I have absolutely no doubt that any of us can navigate the swamps in our mind and achieve anything we choose to achieve.

There is absolutely no limit to what you can achieve except for the limits we impose upon ourselves.

And if we begin surrounding ourselves with like minded people with the same strong sense of belief and vision as we have, pretty soon we can leverage the strength and support of an entire team surrounding us. So, there is no reason for any of us to ever limit ourselves.

Be awesome and start swimming!
