Managed to watch this recently on kennynah's recommendation.

Quite an entertaining movie.

The acting by the female gangster ( Mui Hua ? ) was quite good. Dont think I have seen her before.

Watched Monsters Vs Aliens this afternoon.

The humor is typical American and the graphic is very good.

It is a very wholesome movie treat for the whole family or if you are dating. Very funny indeed :D

I must have seen "Enter The Dragon" seven or eight times :D ..

Martial arts actor Shek Kin dead at 96 By Mark Pollard

Hong Kong has lost one of its greatest and longest living film treasures. Veteran martial arts actor Shek Kin (aka Shih Kien, Sek Kin), best known internationally for his role in ENTER THE DRAGON as "Mr. Han," died this morning at the venerable age of 96.

Gregory So, Hong Kong's Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development expressed regret at the loss.

"Mr. Shek's brilliant career in the performing arts industry started in the 1940s. Since then he devoted lifelong commitment to the industry. He played a villain role in the Wong Fei-hung film series and had become one of the most recognizable faces of Hong Kong cinema," said So.

"With his death, Hong Kong has lost an outstanding performing arts talent. On behalf of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, I offer our deepest condolences to Mr. Shek's family."

Shek was one of the territory's most recognizable actors thanks to a prolific career that spanned over 50 years. Born in 1913, Shek was among Hong Kong's first generation of martial arts stars, including Walter Cho, Kwan Tak-hing and Yu So-chow, who flourished during the initial genre boom of the 1950s and '60s. Trained in several northern kung fu disciplines rather than Chinese opera like so many of his peers, Shek began appearing in Cantonese-language martial arts films in the late 1940s. Up until he was cast as the lead villain in ENTER THE DRAGON, Shek was best known as the lead villain in the long-running WONG FEI HUNG film series where he frequently crossed fists and wits with series star Kwan Tak-hing.

In the 1970s and '80s, Shek continued to appear in a variety of films, most notably in ENTER THE DRAGON but also in a comedic supporting role opposite Jackie Chan in THE YOUNG MASTER. He also frequently appeared in local television series. Shek Kin retired from the entertainment industry in the mid-1990s. His final film role was in Bosco Lam's comedy HONG KONG ADAM'S FAMILY (1994).

`Kung Fu' Carradine found dead

Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series Kung Fu who also had a long career in the movies, has been found dead in Bangkok.

A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide.

The 72-year-old actor was in the Thai capital to shoot a movie and stayed at the Park Nai Lert Hotel on Wireless Road.

The Nation newspaper cited police as saying that his body was found yesterday.

Carradine was a leading member of a Hollywood acting family that included his father, John Carradine, and brother Keith.

He appeared in more than 100 feature films with such directors as Martin Scorsese, Ingmar Bergman and Hal Ashby.

But he was best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin priest traveling the 1800s American frontier West in the TV series Kung Fu.

He returned to the top as the title character in Quentin Tarantino's saga Kill Bill.

Am glad that things are moving for them....

'Slumdog' kids visit Hong Kong for charity show By MIN LEE- AP Entertainment Writer

HONG KONG — The child stars of the Oscar-winning movie "Slumdog Millionaire" traded the shanties of Mumbai for Hong Kong's skyscrapers Friday as they arrived for a charity fundraising performance.

Photographers swarmed Ayush Mahesh Khedekar, Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali as they arrived at Hong Kong's international airport, with 10-year-old Azhar riding on their baggage cart.

A guardian shooed away reporters, but 9-year-old Ayush - whose movie character famously jumps into sewage so he can rush to an Indian film star to get his autograph - said he wanted to visit Hong Kong Disneyland.

The children are due to sing and dance at a live broadcast Saturday to raise funds for the Hong Kong charity The Community Chest.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is about an orphan from Mumbai's shantytowns who wins the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

British director Danny Boyle cast real-life slum residents Azhar and 10-year-old Rubina in the film. Ayush did not grow up in the slums.

But some critics have accused the filmmakers of exploiting Azhar and Rubina, and efforts to improve their living conditions have been complicated by the changing demands of their families and jealousy from their neighbors.

Fearing that a lump-sum payment would be squandered, the filmmakers set up a trust fund for the two children. They also donated $747,500 to a charity devoted to improving the lives of Mumbai street children.

The two children's shanties were razed as part of a city slum-clearing campaign, but the filmmakers and Indian government officials have promised them new homes.

Community Chest publicist Louie Tong said the charity is covering the children's travel expenses and lodging at a luxury hotel, but it is only paying them a small honorarium. She would not reveal the amount.

"Slumdog Millionaire" won eight Oscars in February - including best picture and best director - and made more than $350 million worldwide.
