Maybe its a good idea to never have your nude photos taken?? You never know when an ex will turn around and mess with you.

Nude photos posted online
A MALAYSIAN company executive has sought the help of the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department after her former boyfriend from Hong Kong posted nude pictures of her on the Internet.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the 25-year-old exec said the man used her e-mail account to send out the pictures to her friends, colleagues and family members.

The couple met in 2004 while both were studying in Australia. The woman decided to call off their relationship in September last year. She is working in Malaysia, and he in the financial sector in Shanghai, China.

The man had made numerous calls to her to reconcile, but to no avail. Unable to accept the decision, he sent out the pictures as an apparent act of revenge.

The woman said she only knew about it after one of her friends received the offending e-mail last week. Her friends and colleagues had since promised not to circulate the pictures.

Embarrassed by the incident, the victim said she was in two minds as to whether she ought to remain working where she was.

Department head Datuk Michael Chong said he would accompany her to meet the man, who had informed her via e-mail that he would meet her in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

Datuk Chong said the department had so far received 26 such cases since 2006, six of these in the first half of this year. -- THE STAR/AN

I've recently been a bit concerned with this. Although I don't put a lot of info in my resumes, the info I've shared does create a concern. Especially when we've more job agencies than jobs these days - it becomes a haven for data harvesters.

once it happened to us...

some telemarketeer called us about some products/services and after we did some probes, we discovered that bloody DBS Card gave away our personal information to this telemarketing company.... sibei pu hei.... called up DBS and threatened to report this matter to mata, the pope, the underworld characters, etc...if we ever get another one of such calls again....

so... even credit card companies can screw us easily...

hence..the solution is this... every few years, change identity...

In case you like Salmon ..

Wal-Mart Stops Buying Chile Salmon on Virus Outbreak (Update2) By Matthew Craze and James Attwood

July 13 (Bloomberg) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, stopped buying salmon from Chile, the largest supplier of the fish to the U.S., after an outbreak of infectious salmon anemia in the South American nation.

Wal-Mart switched to “Atlantic” suppliers of salmon after the fish became “unavailable” in Chile, Caren Epstein, a spokeswoman with the Bentonville, Arkansas-based company, said in an e-mailed response to questions July 8. She declined to be more specific on the other countries it was buying from.

Chilean salmon farms suffered an outbreak of the virus known as ISA last year because producers held too many fish in farms off the coast of the island of Chiloe in southern Chile, Jimenez said. The outbreak of the virus is linked to the density of fish farmed in offshore areas and the company is working on vaccinations to combat the disease, he said.

It's Good to Know: The New Generation of ATM Skimmers

Skimmers are small electronic devices that identity thieves attach to ATMs, gas pump card readers, and other places where you swipe credit or debit cards. They are used to steal card numbers, expiration dates, and PINs. And now criminals in Eastern Europe have come up with a new twist: a software skimmer that is inserted in the operating code (usually Windows-based) of the ATM's computer. The program allows them to access all the personal data for all the cards used in the machine.

Security experts predict that the new skimmers could make an appearance in the U.S. soon.

If you are going to be visitng a high risk area eg. Africa or Middle East, they would not be able to tell whether you are from SE Asia or the Mainland..

Within China, there has been some isolated incidents in some western Cities eg. Chengdu.

==========================================

Group threatens China

BEIJING - AN OFFSHOOT of a secessionist group with ties to Al-Qaeda is threatening revenge for the deaths of Muslim Uighurs in clashes with Chinese earlier this month, a US group that monitors militant Web sites said.

UIGHURS, who allege that Han Chinese migrating to Xinjiang are stealing their jobs and complain about government restrictions on their Muslim religion, said the incident was an example of how little the government cares about them.

'Kill the Chinese communists wherever you find them. Capture them and besiege them and lie in wait for each and every ambush,' Seyfullah said in the video, which contained a photo of him in camouflage, his face mostly swathed in white cloth. 'We ask Allah to torture our enemies in general and the Chinese in particular with a special torture,' he said, according to SITE.

The Washington-based SITE Intelligence Group said a video released this week by the Turkistan Islamic Party condemned the July 5 violence between Chinese and Uighurs in the Xinjiang region which stemmed from a brawl between the two sides in southern China in June.

Seyfullah, military commander of the Turkistan Islamic Party, known as TIP, said in the video that the two incidents were examples of 'genocide' perpetrated by the Chinese government.

'Know that this Muslim people have men who will take revenge for them,' he said in the message, which was issued on jihadist forums on Thursday and translated by SITE a day later. 'Soon, the horsemen of Allah will attack you, Allah willing. So lie in wait; indeed, we lie in wait with you.'

It is not the first time TIP has threatened China. Days before last year's Beijing Olympics, it warned it would attack Chinese cities.

The July 5 unrest began in Xinjiang's capital of Urumqi, where a peaceful protest by Uighur residents turned violent after it was stopped by police. The Uighurs went on a rampage, smashing windows, burning cars and beating Han Chinese, the nation's dominant ethnic group. Two days later, ethnic Han took to the streets and attacked Uighurs. The government has said the rioting killed 192 people and injured 1,721.

There is no evidence that terrorist or separatist groups were behind the clashes, although Beijing has labeled the event the work of the forces of 'terrorism, separatism and extremism.'

Authorities accuse Rebiya Kadeer, a prominent exiled Uighur activist, of inciting the unrest. They have not provided evidence to back their claim, and Kadeer, who lives in Washington, has denied the accusation.

The initial protest was centered on calls for an investigation into the June 25 deaths of Uighur factory workers killed in a brawl with Han Chinese in the southern city of Shaoguan. State media reports said only two people died.

In the days that followed, however, graphic photos spread on the Internet purportedly showing at least a half-dozen bodies of Uighurs, with Han Chinese standing over them, arms raised in victory. -- AP

A question of privacy

WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? By HAFIDZ MAHPAR

I CAN empathise with J.D. Salinger, the reclusive author of The Catcher in the Rye who avoided public exposure like the plague. To him, his private life was nobody’s business.

Technology has improved our lives, but it has also led to privacy issues. For example, Internet service providers and others with the necessary computer programmes can track Internet users’ behaviour, enabling marketers to target specific groups of people.

If you have small kids, please read this :-

To sanitize or not to sanitize? That is the question.

A friend of mine, a teacher named Elizabeth, told me she doesn't use any of the hand sanitizer dispensers that have been put up throughout the elementary school where she teaches. She says she sees too many "grubby little hands" pulling the levers that produce a small dab of sanitizer.

Her theory: No amount of sanitizer could offset all the germs that are coating those levers.

I thought of Elizabeth's sanitizer dispenser aversion when I received an e-mail that had been forwarded quite a few times. This one came with a verification of sorts (I checked it out anyway and it appears to be legitimate), and a warning: Many hand sanitizers have a high alcohol content, which can be a bad mix with kids.

The e-mail shares the story of 4-year-old Halle who became lethargic and incoherent while at school. She was taken to a local ER where multiple tests showed nothing wrong. Finally, doctors were informed that she'd been licking hand sanitizer off her hands earlier in the school day.

A blood alcohol test revealed that Halle was still intoxicated, six full hours after arriving at the hospital.

Other similar events have already prompted some schools to discontinue hand sanitizer use or change to alcohol-free products. Use of fragrance-free products is also a good idea because a child might think a sweetly scented dab of hand sanitizer is a treat.

Please share this warning with friends, family, and school administrators: Hand sanitizer may seem benign, but it should be used sparingly with younger children.

Scrub your celery. Apples and peaches too.

But even a good scrubbing might not eliminate all pesticide residue because some pesticide chemicals work their way into the soil where they're taken in by plant roots.

Of course, this is a good reason to purchase organically grown foods. With organics, your chance of consuming pesticide residue drops significantly.

But whether or not you go organic, it's still a good idea to thoroughly wash plant foods before eating. Especially foods on this "Dirty Dozen" list. According to the Environmental Working Group, these are the 12 fruits and vegetables that consistently rank highest in pesticide residues:

1. Peaches
2. Apples
3. Sweet bell peppers
4. Celery
5. Nectarines
6. Strawberries
7. Cherries
8. Kale
9. Lettuce
10. Grapes (imported)
11. Carrots
12. Pears

And now for the good news: According to EWG, onions, avocados, asparagus, watermelon, broccoli, and tomatoes are among the foods least likely to carry pesticide residue.
