It's Fun to Know: The Fake Speed Bump

City officials in Philadelphia (and a few other cities) have been testing a novel way to slow down traffic: "speed bumps" painted on the road. Thanks to an optical illusion, they look real and drivers do slow down... at least for a few months (until they wise up). Still, it is hoped that they will continue to serve as reminders to slow down and supplement the speed limit signs.

Hi fclim, great article you shared with us :) Thks!

I'm undecided on cars. But I totally agree with you on not to work to drive. Anyway, I so old already, still no license, haha, so less temptation for me to own a car :)

talking about fake speed cameras... i have a close friend who resides in PJ/KL... when i was in his vehicle, i was impressed with the device that was able to detect speed cameras, allowing him to slow his vehicle speed in advance... super duper useful...hahaha...

Anybody thought of setting up a company, then buy a diesel driven van? Cheap capital outlay with cheaper fuel cost too :)
