Cult leader gets 10 years for rape

A South Korean cult leader who told followers to have sex with him to purge their sins was jailed for 10 years.

Jeong Myeong Seok, whose JMS sect stands for both Jesus Morning Star and his initials, was convicted of raping or sexually assaulting four women between 2001 and 2006.

An appeal court added four years to a lower court's sentence of six years.

The court was crowded with some 70 of Jeong's followers, some sighing and others shedding tears at the sentence, media reports said.

The PAP is at it again, I mean gerrymandering. I predict general elections (GE) in June 2009
I can't wait to vote for the first time in my life in a GE but then I may not get the opportunity

what to do... this time round. No confidence that there is good years by 2011.

they will say...'give me a strong mandate...so that we can work together out of this. Singaporeans are resilience and resourceful...blah blah blah...'
1. Always wait for the setup. NO SETUP; NO TRADE

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.

Not due until 2012. That's still 3 years from now. If they really have it this year, that's still 2.5 years ahead of time.

Why the need to do it so early ? The economy has already slowed down. It may turn around closer in 3 years time. If they have it this year, there could be a back-lash as people were say why the need to do it now when you have 3 years to go.

Hmmm.... i thought election are every 4 years. Did not noticed that it was every 6 years in Spore..

THE STRAITS TIMES - The Elections Department has made changes to polling districts in Singapore, adding to speculation the government is preparing for early general elections. The city-state last held elections in May 2006 and the next is due by February 2012.

Snap, snap elections so that our city-state can snap out of the recession in double quick time.

Elections should be due this year when another off budget goodies package comes thro' later this year to sweeten the ground. Now is the BEST time to invoke FEAR in that if you don't vote for the gahmen... the recession is going to get worse and NOBODY ELSE can do the job. GCT used this tactic in 2002 and it worked like a charm.

If they don't hold it this year and next year the economy REALLY DETERIORATES beyond repair (say US goes into a depression), ppe. might lose faith and trust.

I endorse MM's view.
Another off-budget stimulus package is likely in mid-year and that could possibly mean another drawdown into past reserves. This package will strengthen their hand.

I think the people are now smarter. They know that the world's economy is not doing well.

If they have an election this year, there could be a back-lash. People will ask why are you wasting our time ? You have three more years to go. Concentrate on your job to improve the economy rather than to try to get re-elected.

Look at Malaysia, they had earlier election and they got ther back-lash.
