甄珍和刘家昌, married for 30 years, will retire to California. Liu, who wrote some 2500 songs and made so many singers famous, will hang up his mic for good. He revealed in another interview that his favourite song was "Fog".

Liu's protege, another Liu, hung up his mic at 29 and disappeared entirely from the musical scene.
Liu said that his student retired to the US with a second career in real estate. It was reported that he owned 22 properties then. Some 10 years ago, he was reportedly spotted in Singapore for a very long period of time. Another student of Liu, FeiYuQing, lived in Singapore for some 4 years when his nephew attended NTU.
