In this new calendar year, as students of spirituality, how can we accelerate our journey to the Divine?
It is more useful for students to search for their own faults with a view to remove them than to seek excellences so that they might exult over them.
Students who seek their faults can progress fast; they are not dragged behind by fear or anxiety; they can move on, with faith in the Divine, on whom they have placed all their burdens! They reach a state of mental calm, which is the sign of a true aspirant.
For whom was the Scriptures spoken? Just think of that for one moment! Milk is not taken from the udder for the sake of the cow, for cows don’t drink their own milk.
It is for people who have intelligence moderated by goodness; intelligence that’s controlled by virtues!
- Gita Vahini, Ch 3.
Goodness is another name for the Divine. When there is no goodness,
how can He be understood?
