MIIT: China - May New Energy Car Production Up Nearly 3x YoY

In May 2015, China's car sales and car production amounted to 1.9642 million units and 1.9038 million units, up 5.56% and 4.55% as compared to the month-ago period, or down 0.58% and 0.4% as compared to the year-ago period, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reported.

During the month, China's new energy car production increased three times from a year ago to 19,100 units.

Vehicle sales in China declined 2.3% year-on-year in June, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) announced.

In the first half of the year, the vehicle sales rose 1.4% as compared to the same period in 2014.

CAAM: China Car Production, Car Sales Decline Sharply in 1H15

China Association of Antomobile Manufacturers (CAAM) announced that in June 2015, car production and sales both recorded a decline as compared with the previous month.

The car production and car sales amounted to 1.8508 million units and 1.8031 million units, down 5.8% and 5.3% when compared to the month-ago period, or down 0.2% and 2.3% year-on-year respectively.
