Queen ‘Should Get New Royal Yacht’: Gove

Michael Gove has suggested that the public donate a new royal yacht to the Queen to mark her diamond jubilee later this year, The Guardian newspaper reported on Monday.

Michael Gove is backing calls for a new royal yacht, saying: “I feel strongly that the diamond jubilee gives us a tremendous opportunity to recognise in a very fitting way the Queen’s highly significant contribution to the life of the nation and the Commonwealth.”

Last I heard...UK libraries are being closed for budget issues.

Why not use the same amount of money to fund the libraries? More people will get to use it.

It is a direct investment into Education and will have long term benefit to people and economy.

I'm not aware their libraries are closed.
But really, not much difference from being closed. Even their very centralized public library in the heart of central London (not their British Library, which is a gigantic "reference section"), cannot even compare to Margaret Drive branch.
