The Roman empire lasted some 600 years. America is only 233.
The DOW is 1/3 away from its historical peak.

Thank goodness, this thread has only another 20 days to go. I've just mailed out some X'mas cards wishing friends a Happy New Year. Everything will be new soon and yet nothing is new. This is the beauty of life.

how well said... all things good and bad will pass us by through the passage of time... they are all but transient...
