The US and the EU are looking at new tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum, as part of a crackdown on carbon emissions and global overcapacity, Bloomberg cited people with the knowledge of the matter.

The new tariffs, which were proposed within the US government and are still in the preliminary stage, is expected to reach an agreement with the EU on the details of the tariff thresholds by the end of next year at the earliest.
