New loans by banks more than forecast

China's banks made 1.28 trillion yuan (HK$1.59 trillion) in new loans in June handily topping expectations while broad money supply growth quickened with the central bank's loosening policy to support the slowing economy.

The bank cut lending rates for the fourth time in seven months during June and lowered the amounts of cash some banks must keep as reserves.

The People's Bank of China will fine tune policy some more to provide more liquidity for the economy, a bank official said, as recent easing helped cut funding costs for companies.

Banks made a total of 6.56 trillion yuan in new loans in the first six months of the year, the PBoC said. That came after a poll predicted 1.05 trillion yuan.

The broad M2 money supply was up 11.8 percent against market forecasts of 11 percent.

Total social financing a broader measure of overall liquidity in the economy was 1.86 trillion yuan in June against 1.22 trillion in May.

New yuan loans accounted for 74 percent of the TSF in the first half of 2015, corporate bonds 11 percent, entrusted loans 6 percent and stock issuance nearly 5 percent, the data from the central bank showed.

Meanwhile, foreign exchange reserves, the world's largest, fell by US$40 billion (HK$311.2 billion) in the second quarter to US$3.69 trillion, a fourth consecutive quarterly decline amid signs of capital outflows.

(Might show the real state of the Chinese economy rather then the 7% growth posted by the govt, although food scare does affect the biz)

I think it's the food scare.

Fast food is still relatively inexpensive compared to car sales and properties
