The won is in freefall against the USD and at the same range when IMF had to step in back in 98. Not good....

I dont think things are that bad this time compared to 1997.

However, Korea could be hit becuz the slowdown in the US would mean less exports for them.

Eventually, the lower Won would help in their exports..

In Korea, it's normally Pork with Rice or Korean BBQ Beef or Seafood Hot Pot.

Did not recall seeing much mutton nor chicken.

Hmmm... winter is coming so there's also some dog meat....

:P :D  :?

Korean CB cuts rate

Bank of Korea Makes Emergency Rate Cut
10/26/2008 10:33 PM ET

(RTTNews) - The Bank of Korea on Monday morning slashed interest rates by 75 basis points from 5.00 percent to 4.25 percent in an emergency meeting to render immediate relief to the struggling economy and plummeting stock market.

It was the second cut this month as the BoK trimmed rates by 25 basis points on October 9. Before raising rates in August to combat inflation, the board had left interest rates at 5.00 percent for 11 straight meetings.

I just saw on CNBC...

They are also selling a 20year bond at 5.1% yield (<<I think.... let's wait for the official feed to get to the news site)
1. Always wait for the setup. NO SETUP; NO TRADE

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.
