EV sales in China have risen to 10% in last two years, says BNEF

Electric vehicles (EVs) have gone from less than 1% of light commercial vehicle sales to 10% in just the last two years in China.

Reached a record high of almost 18,000 in August.

Only South Korea has a higher adoption rate, with more than 20% of its light commercial vehicle sales already electric so far in 2022.

Sales of electric big rigs rose 224% in July and hit 3.4% of the total market.

CAAM: CN Nov Auto Sales Down 7.9% YoY, NEVs Up 72.3%

In November 2022, production volume and sales of automobile in China fell 8.2% MoM to 2.386 million units, and 7.1% to 2.328 million units, respectively, and an average annual decrease of 7.9%, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In the same month, production volume of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rose 65.6% YoY to 768,000 units, while sales surged 72.3% YoY to 786,000 units, respectively. The market share of NEVs reached 33.8%.
