UBS, in its research report, raised the forecast on COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK)'s profit, and the target price from $3 to $4, to reflect the expectations of freight improvement.

But the research house believed the stock has priced in the above factors because the company's share price has risen 15% since the positive profit alert on 6 July.

The shipping company was maintained at Sell.

COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) Plans to Raise RMB12.9B by Non-public A Shares Issuance

COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) announced that the company proposed to issue a maximum of 2.043 billion A shares to not more than 10 specific target subscribers, which would raise gross proceeds of up to RMB12.9 billion.

The gross proceeds to be raised are intended to be used for the payment of the consideration for 20 container vessels under construction.

Of which, controlling shareholder COSCO SHIPPING will subscribe to 50% of the total number of A shares to be issued under the proposed non-public issuance of A shares.

An application has been made for the resumption of trading in the A shares with effect from 31 October 2017.

In accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles of the People?s Republic of China, the revenue added 9.1% year on year to RMB21.923 billion.

The net profit amounted to RMB181 million, down 33%.

Cosco Reportedly Buys Over 25 Ships to Help CHALCO Transport Bauxite from Africa

Cosco Shipping is in talks with Chinese ship makers to purchase about 25 massive ships in order to ship bauxite from the West African country Guinea, sources quoted as saying by the Wall Street Journal.

The shipments related to CHALCO (02600.HK)'s US$700 million project in Boffa of Guinea.

Cosco is seeking to enlarge its fleet to assist CHALCO's long-term contract of importing bauxite.

It was reported that Cosco would initially seek to have seven more ships and later will increase that number to above 25.

COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK)'s 2018 EBIT was largely consistent with forecasts. Hence, Goldman Sachs tweaked the company's 2019-21E earnings by -4%/ +2%/ +6%.

The revision indicated reduced volumes but finer pricing and higher unit costs.

Overall, COSCO SHIP HOLD was reiterated at Buy, with target price cut from $4.6 to $4.4.
