<Research>JPM Trims Tesla (TSLA.US) TP to US$120, Rating UnderweightAfter a slow start to 2025 and in consideration of the growing reactions toward Tesla (TSLA.US) CEO Elon Musk's high level of involvement in politics, which could worsen the trend, JPMorgan expected the Group to deliver just about 355,000 vehicles in 1Q25, implying a
YoY/ QoQ drop of 8%/ 28% from its earlier estimation of 444,000 vehicles and 15% below market consensus, according to JPMorgan's research report.
JPMorgan trimmed its target price on Tesla to US$120 from US$135, with rating kept at Underweight, primarily due to the extremely uncertain outlook for auto deliveries (and pricing), the very different attitudes toward the brand from existing customers and potential new buyers, including protests at stores across the US and participation in sales boycotts around the world, as well as the abandonment of vehicles already purchased in the secondary market.
