MORE PROOF THAT 'SELLING THE BASICS' WORKS

Today, we're looking at a company leading a "boring" industry...

Longtime DailyWealth readers know that companies don't need to be "exciting" to make money. Companies that sell the basics often make for great investments.

Today, we take a look at another company succeeding with this business model...

We're talking about Ingersoll Rand (IR). The company sells, installs, and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ("HVAC") equipment.

This kind of equipment is a key part of any home. And Ingersoll Rand remains the go-to company for HVAC equipment...

In the most recent quarter, the firm reported net revenues of $4.4 billion, up 11% from the same quarter in 2017.

As you can see below, shares of IR are in an uptrend, recently hitting a fresh all-time high. Since then, IR is up more than 15%.

SELLING AIR CONDITIONERS IS BORING... BUT IT WORKS

Today's chart shows that "boring" companies can deliver powerful returns...

By boring, we mean businesses that have been doing the same thing for decades – and do it darn well. They may not be exciting... But they can help you take advantage of steady, stable growth, with less risk of a big crash.

We've seen this with food distribution, paint, and trash collection. Today, we're looking at another great example...

Ingersoll Rand (IR) sells, installs, and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ("HVAC") equipment. IR makes money when customers buy an HVAC system... when they need to maintain it... and when they replace it after 10 or 20 years. That's hardly thrilling, but in the most recent quarter, IR hit net sales of $4.3 billion – up 8% year over year.
