Amazon (AMZN)

Amazon has been one of the best-performing growth stocks of all time, but Bank of America analyst Justin Post says the stock is still undervalued.

Post says investors should anticipate a deceleration in growth this year as Amazon laps the beginning of the health crisis.

However, he says Amazon's results in recent quarters demonstrated just how powerful and profitable its online retail, cloud services and advertising businesses can be in the long term.

Post says Amazon Web Services revenue growth could get a boost from a rebound in IT spending.

Bank of America has a "buy" rating and a $4,150 price target for AMZN stock.

Amazon (AMZN)

Amazon’s first quarter net sales jumped 44%, year-over-year, to $108.5 billion and topped analysts’ estimates of $104.6 billion by 3.7%.

The company now has over a third more Prime members, or 200 million members, than it did in January 2020.

Online store net sales of $52.9 billion and Amazon Web Services net sales of $13.5 billion bested analysts’ estimates.

Earnings of $15.79 per share more than tripled, year-over-year, and demolished analysts’ expectations of $9.64 per share by 64%.

The company expects second-quarter sales from $110 billion to $116 billion, which would represent from 24% to 30% growth from the second quarter of 2020. Operating income is expected to be between $4.5 billion and $8.0 billion, compared with $5.8 billion in the second quarter of 2020.

Shares soared over 2% after Amazon reported last Friday, but the stock is down nearly 4% over the past five days.

Analysts anticipate revenue will increase in the upcoming quarter to $108.9 billion, while earnings should dip to $10.99 per share.

Amazon.com (AMZN)

While indeed one of the biggest companies on earth, Amazon has proven its uncanny ability to post spectacular growth rates despite its size, making it a natural member of 2021's best growth stocks to buy.

For many years, Amazon denied itself profitability, choosing instead to expand its market share through razor-thin margins while plowing every dollar back into long-term investments.

In 2021, AMZN remains a glorious tale of margin expansion combined with rapid top-line growth.

Its international business just turned profitable in 2020, and for a company with $419 billion in trailing sales, Amazon's 44% growth rate last quarter is stunning.

AMZN is still looking to disrupt other parts of the economy, reportedly planning its own primary health care services business it will offer to large employers.

With health care spending accounting for more than 17% of the U.S. economy, Amazon has its eyes on the prize.

Tech Stocks to Buy Today: Amazon (AMZN)

For this year’s first quarter, Amazon reported that its revenue rose 44% to $108.52 billion.

Earnings came in at $15.79 per share versus $9.54 that analysts had expected. That marks the second consecutive quarter that Amazon earned more than $100 billion of revenue.

And despite its mindboggling growth and success, the company provided bullish forward guidance. Amazon forecasts that its sales will be between $110 billion and $116 billion for the current second quarter that ends June 30.

Outside of its core retail business, Amazon’s cloud-computing business continue to boom. Amazon Web Services saw net sales of $13.5 billion during the first quarter, up 32% year-over-year. Oh, and “Prime Day” is scheduled to take place this June, which will likely give the company’s spring sales an even bigger boost.

Despite its success, AMZN stock is only up 1% year-to-date at $3,222.90. Analysts agree that the share price is currently undervalued, and have a median price target on them of $4,175.00, for a potential future gain of 30%.

Amazon delivers third straight US$100b quarter n a row

the company reported its first revenue miss in three years and gave weak third-quarter guidance, CNBC reports.

Here’s how the company did:

Earnings: US$15.12 vs US$12.30 per share, according to analysts surveyed by Refinitiv

Revenue: US$113.08 billion vs US$115.2 billion, according to analysts surveyed by Refinitiv

Amazon’s revenue grew by 27 percent year over year to US$113.08 billion. That’s a significant slowdown from the second quarter of 2020, when sales skyrocketed 41 percent year over year.

Amazon expects to see slower growth continue for the next few quarters.

For the third quarter, Amazon said it expects to book sales between US$106 billion and US$112 billion, representing growth of 10 percent to 16 perent.

Amazon said its operating profit in the third quarter will be in the range of US$2.5 billion and US$6 billion, a notably wide gap. That’s still a step down from the US$6.2 billion of costs it incurred from things like coronavirus safety measures in the third quarter of 2020.

Amazon is in the midst of a multiyear investment cycle, which includes spending heavily to increase warehouse capacity across the country. Most of Amazon’s 2021 spend and building openings are planned for the second-half of the year.

While Amazon’s second-quarter sales disappointed, earnings trounced expectations, helped by its highly profitable cloud-computing, subscriptions and advertising businesses. Amazon’s “other” unit, which includes advertising and other services, grew revenue by 87 percent year over year during the period.

Amazon Stock Has Two Key Support Levels to Watch After Earnings Dip

by BRET KENWELL

The $3,350 area isn’t as clean of a resistance mark as $3,550 is, but this former range resistance level sticks out on the chart. When paired with the 21-week moving average, this is the first support level to watch.

Should we get a less-than-enthusiastic bounce or should Amazon simply flat out fail to hold the $3,350 area as support, let’s look down toward the $3,250 to $3,270 area.

In that range, Amazon will find its 200-day and 10-month moving averages. More importantly though, the 50-week moving average is in this area. This measure has been significant support throughout 2021.

Amazon (AMZN) – Announced July 29

Amazon’s net sales jumped 27% year-over-year to $113.08 billion, but missed analysts’ estimates of $115.08 billion by 1.74%.

The company’s cloud division, Amazon Web Services, grew year-over-year sales in the quarter by 37% to $14.81 billion.

Earnings of $15.12 per share soared 48.2% from a year prior and beat analysts’ expectations of $12.24 per share by 23.54%.

Operating income for the third quarter is expected to be between $2.5 billion and $6 billion, compared with $6.2 billion in the third quarter of 2020.

Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky primarily blamed rough year-over-year comparisons for the disappointing results.

The stock fell about 8% on Friday following the mixed second-quarter earnings report.
