THE POWER OF INVESTING IN ADDICTIVE PRODUCTS

Some people call it "investing in vice." We simply call it smart investing...

Selling addictive products is a great business. Customers keep coming back for more...

So companies that sell cigarettes, sugar, and caffeine enjoy steady sales and profits. This often makes for excellent long-term investments.

For proof, we turn to Dunkin' Brands Group (DNKN). The coffee and donut giant has more than 11,500 Dunkin' Donuts locations in nearly 60 countries. It also owns and operates the Baskin-Robbins ice cream brand. Few things are as addictive as caffeine and sugar.

Last week, DNKN shares touched a new 52-week high. They're up more than 22% from their June lows – and more than 26% this year. As long as people continue to drink their morning coffee, DNKN shares should continue to rise...

A ' ONE-TWO PUNCH' FOR BIG PROFITS

Today, we're revisiting a company that knows what you crave...

Longtime readers know we often highlight companies that sell addictive products. These businesses tend to enjoy steady sales and profits as their customers come back for more.

Coffee and fast food are some of the most popular treats. Today, we're looking at a company that does both...

We're talking about Dunkin' Brands (DNKN), the holding company that runs fast-food chain Dunkin' Donuts. Its Dunkin' Donuts restaurants serve coffee, donuts, and other breakfast dishes to more than 3 million customers every day. That's a lot of people willing to indulge in a sweet tooth...

And the company's bottom line shows it. In the first quarter of 2018, net income reached $50.2 million, up 13% from the same period last year. And adjusted earnings beat analyst expectations.

As you can see in the chart below, shares are soaring. They're up more than 30% over the past year and recently hit a fresh all-time high. As long as folks stop for coffee and donuts in the morning, this stock should continue higher...

THIS 'ADDICTIVE' STAPLE HAS POWERED THROUGH THE PANDEMIC

Today, we're highlighting a company that gives you a spark to start your day...

As regular readers know, companies that sell "addictive" products tend to make it through good times and bad.

Folks can't get enough of the habit-forming goods that lift their spirits... from coffee to fast food. Today, we're looking at a company that sells both of those things...

We're talking about Dunkin' Brands (DNKN). Its Dunkin' Donuts restaurants serve coffee, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and other baked goods at more than 13,000 locations worldwide.

Due to the pandemic, revenues decreased in its latest earnings report...

However, same-store sales improved in each month of the second quarter as the company adjusted its menu to attract customers visiting later in the day.

With its quick thinking – and its sugary, caffeinated treats – Dunkin' has persevered through the COVID-19 crisis...

As you can see in the chart below, shares have bounced back, too. They're up more than 110% from their March 20 low.

As economies gradually reopen and folks keep craving coffee and fast food, this uptrend should continue...
