Wilmar’s 4Q14 core earnings of US$412m were well ahead of our/consensus expectations.
Sequential jump in Palm & Lauric M&P pretax was partly offset by a 61% drop in Oilseeds & Grains and 66% in Sugar pretax profits.
We expect steady M&P earnings, offset by seasonal loss in Sugar milling contribution in 1Q15.
Earnings were revised by +3.4% to +4.2%; target price adjusted to S$3.50 (Prev S$ 3.45).
HOLD rating unchanged.

Wilmar Q1 net profit jumps 49 pct on grains, oilseeds performance
SINGAPORE (May 7): Singapore-based Wilmar International Ltd ( Financial Dashboard) said on Thursday its net profit in the first quarter jumped 49 percent to $241.2 million, supported strong performance in the company's oilseeds and grains businesses.
Wilmar, the world's largest palm oil processor and one of the biggest soybean buyers, reported revenue of $9.4 billion, 8.3 percent lower on the year, weighed down by lower commodity prices.
"Crush margins are expected to remain positive going into mid-2015," Wilmar said in a statement.

Wilmar: 1Q15 results mostly in line
Wilmar International Limited (WIL) reported a mostly in-line set of 1Q15 results, with revenue down 8.3% YoY at US$9411.3m, mostly reflecting the still-soft commodity prices.
Still, topline met about 21% of our full-year forecast. And thanks to a strong 142.4% jump in contribution from associates, reported net profit surged 49.1% to US$241.2m.
Core net profit grew at a slightly slower pace of 22.7% to US$263.3m, meeting 21.4% of our FY15 estimate.
Going forward, management remains modestly upbeat about its prospects. It expects crush margins to remain positive going into mid-2015; consumer products to continue to grow globally with reasonable margins; but notes that the operating conditions for Tropical Oils will remain challenging.
It adds that it is "cautiously optimistic" that 2Q performance will be "satisfactory".
We will have more after the analyst briefing later. For now, we keep our BUY rating and S$3.50 fair value (based on 13x FY15F EPS).

Core 1Q15 earnings of US$263m for Wilmar International were above our forecast but slightly below consensus on annualised basis.
The earnings jump was due to 11-fold increase in Oilseeds & Grains pretax, drop in FX losses, higher Associates' contribution and offset by drop in Tropical Oils pretax.
Going forward, soybean crush margins should remain strong in 1H15 while Tropical Oils contribution may recover in 2H15.
We are maintaining our earnings forecasts for now, pending issuance of CPO export levies in Indonesia.
TP maintained at US$3.50. Maintain HOLD.
