It amazing how the STI index are performing when regional indices are dropping ~2.5%.

and Jardine Matheson is really super thinly traded - i wonder how its weightage to STI is.

Anyone knows where to find the hyperlink showing the weightage of STI component stocks? (been searching around, but nothing recent came up - or is there a reason why its not easily available?? ) ;)

While the banks and Property Companies are down about 2%, this one and it's sister JSH is up 4% on no news.

The regulators cant be sleeping...

The following notification dated 31st December 2009 in respect of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited was lodged with the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom today:-

“JARDINE MATHESON HOLDINGS LIMITED ("JMH")
REPURCHASE AND CANCELLATION OF SHARES

Please be advised of the following repurchase and cancellation by JMH of its own shares held by Clare Investment Overseas (PTC) Limited, the subsidiary and trustee of the Senior Executive Share Incentive Scheme of JMH, on 31st December 2009:-

Date of repurchase: 31st December 2009
Total number of shares repurchased: 11,000 ordinary shares
Highest price paid per share: US$18.210
Lowest price paid per share: US$6.405

The shares being repurchased and cancelled relate to share options issued pursuant to JMH’s Senior Executive Share Incentive Scheme which have ceased to be exercisable under the terms of the relevant Trust Deed of the said Scheme.

The repurchase was carried out in accordance with the terms of the relevant Trust Deed of the said Scheme as approved by the shareholders of JMH.

In Singapore, alot of stocks can be up 10-20% and the regulator don't even bat an eyelid. If they do send a query, the std. reply always come back "we do not know Y our share prices are surging"...

After a while, nobody cares too much liao :D

Our pivot point stands at 42.

Our preference: as long as 42 is support look for 47.8.

Alternative scenario: below 42, expect 40.4 and 39.5.

Comment: the RSI is above 50. The MACD is below its signal line and positive.

The stock could retrace in the short term. Moreover, the stock is above its 20 and 50 day MA (standing respectively at 43.07 and 41.43).

Jardine Matheson is currently trading near its 52 week high reached at 45 on 15/09/10.

Supports and resistances: 48.8 *47.8 **46.9 44.06 last 42.64 **40.4 *

Jardine Matheson: 2010 profit up 34%.

Underlying profit for Jardine Matheson Holdings rose 34% yoy in 2010 to US$1.36b.

Profits were boosted by car sales in Indonesia, residential projects in Singapore and rising demand for its Mandarin Oriental International's hotel rooms.
