erm issue is water is a important commodity but they are selling the parts not selling water itself.

Assuming if they are selling fresh water itself .. i would confirm buy into them.

so, back to the original question....if water treatment is such a big deal and hyflux is a water treatment company, and with so much pomp pomp surrounding her, why is Hyflux trading <S$5....?

TA cannot tell... it is not capable of explaining why share price is so depressed...

only FA can uncover the reasons...

so, c'mon FA folks...step up to the plate and shine...and share with us, why ...

thanks.

ps : for an uncomplicated company like Hyflux, it really shouldnt be a challenge to tear this company apart and present the details of strength and weakness of this company to explain why it is trading sub$5

if cannot perform a proper FA on a relatively uncomplicated company....then, really...let's be serious...

Not vested.

Hyflux may be in focus on Wednesday after Credit Suisse upgraded the water treatment firm to "outperform" and raised its target price to S$3.60.

Is the membrane technology that they've got technically 'state of the art'??
Is there alternative technology in the offing, ready to replace it??

Algeria?? I know very little abt Algeria except for what Camus wrote but from what I gather from friends, it's frontierland more problematic than Libya.
I could always be wrong. But I suppose I should not write off what a once-a-upon-a-time-PAP-poster-girl can do. Don't misunderstand me, I wish the company well.

I usually do not like to post negative comments abt stocks. What is left unspoken is usually more important in my view. Maybe I am juz too lazy abt the consequence of having to dig out facts and numbers to justify my views.......aiyah loi-li-loi-soh again.

K - A stock price is what the seller is willing to let go at every single moment during the trading day

My friend Learn2Win says it best " The stock market is like a goldmine. It is open 8hrs during the trading day. Everyone knows and they want to cart the gold out from the mine but 90% of them ended up contributing to the gold pile instead"

Dear k,

I dont think Hyflux is on the radar of some of the pure FAs here.

Maybe you want to check out the threads of Pacific Andes, Ezra, Swiber or Boustead :)

Take care,
Winston
