This Stock Promises to Transform the ‘Human Listening Experience’

At S$4.35 ($3.29), that’s still far from its record high of S$64 attained in 2000, when it had a market cap of S$5.2 billion.

If the product gains just 0.5 percent share of the global headset market in 2020, Creative would gain revenues of $232 million, Sachin Mittal, an analyst at DBS Group Holdings Ltd. wrote in a note.

Creative in Top Gainer list after Super X-Fi amp online sales boast

By PC Lee

SINGAPORE (Sept 27): Creative Technology was third on the Top 20 Gainers list this morning, rising 23 cents or 3.7% to $6.45 with 1 million shares traded.

In a filing last night, Creative boasted it sold 600 units of its newly-launched Super X-Fi amp headphone amplifier in the first 20 minutes after its sxfi.com online store went live at 6.34pm on Monday.

Priced at $219 including tax, Creative CEO and co-founder Sim Wong Hoo said he was “truly blown away by the initial whirlwind sales reaction to the launch”.

“The confidence that folks out there have in the revolutionary Super X-Fi technology is truly heartening,” said Sim, “And the sales period took place in the evening when people were busy commuting home from work.”

Worldwide delivery the Super X-Fi amp is expected to commence in November.

Year to date, shares in Creative are up 486% to $6.45.

Creative Technology ($5.40, unchanged) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ZiiLabs Inc Ltd, has entered into an agreement with patent aggregator, RPX Corporation (“RPX”) and as a result has settled ZiiLabs’ patent infringement lawsuits filed in the United States in 2017 as previously announced on 03-Oct-17 and 30-Dec17.

As part of this agreement, ZiiLabs will receive payment from RPX and assign the remaining rights in its patent portfolio to RPX.

Creative expects the payment will contribute approximately S$0.35 (US$0.25) of earnings per share to the current quarter ending 31-Mar-19.

Creative Technology sees bigger US$4.9m loss for Q2 on lower revenue

SINGAPORE - Creative Technology sank deeper into the red for its second quarter ended Dec 31, dragged down by lower revenue.

The group recorded a net loss of U$4.9 million, compared to a net loss of U$4.2 million a year ago.

Turnover decreased 22 per cent to U$16.2 million due to "uncertain and difficult market conditions which affected the sales of the group's products", it said in a Singapore Exchange filing on Thursday (Feb 14).

Gross profit fell 18 per cent to U$4.8 million.

Loss per share came in at $0.07 compared to $0.06 a year ago. No dividend was declared for the quarter.

Creative said that it expects no significant change in the market conditions and overall market for the group's products remains challenging.

Revenue is expected to be lower in this non-holiday season quarter, and the group expects to report an operating loss.

Revenue contribution from Super X-Fi products for the quarter is not expected to be significant to the overall revenue for the group, it added.

In February, wholly-owned subsidiary ZiiLabs Inc settled certain patent infringement lawsuits filed in the US.

"The settlement sum of U$17.9 million will be recognised by the group as other income in the current quarter. This will offset the operating loss and is expected to result in a net profit for the current quarter," said Creative.
