CREATIVE ($3.45, down 7) has delayed the launch of HanZpad till later this year from end May, because certain components “could not
be deliveredâ€.
In its place, and totally unexpected, Creative launched Sound Blaster Axx targeting the “casual users and not hardcore audiophilesâ€.
Founder Sim Wong Hoo may be wise not to raise expectations from SB Axx (first SB was launched in 1989), but note that it was the excitement overHanZpad’s “enormous potential†in China that had pushed the stock from around $2.40 before the Beijing media briefing in February to a high of $5.05 in a matter of only 2 days.
We would join Sim and Creative’s fans to pray that his team “would not fall in the last 500m of the marathonâ€.
Creative’s share price closed at $3.45 on friday, well off $3.90 (up 43 cents or 12%) that it had risen to on Wed Jun 6th from the day
before, in response to the SB Axx launch, as investors “realized†the “star†was supposed to be HanZpad and not SB Axx.
We maintain SELL.
