Dairy Farm Intl ST: the RSI is oversold <DAIR.SI>

Our pivot point stands at 8.14.

Our preference: the downside prevails as long as 8.14 is resistance.

Alternative scenario: above 8.14, look for 8.39 and 8.54.

Comment: the RSI is trading below 30. This could mean that either the stock is in a lasting downtrend or just oversold and that therefore a rebound could shape (look for bullish divergence in this case).

The MACD is negative and below its signal line. The configuration is negative. Moreover, the stock istrading under both its 20 and 50 day MA (respectively at 8.49 and 8.64).

Finally, Dairy Farm Intl is trading below its lower daily Bollinger band (standing at 7.84).

Dairy Farm Intl is currently trading near its 52 week low at 7.63 reached on 05/08/15.

Supports and resistances: 8.54 **8.39 *8.14 **8.05 7.71 last 7.35 7.21 **7.07 *6.93 **

We upgrade our rating on Dairy Farm to BUY with TP of US$7.34.

The stock currently trades at an attractive valuation of 18.5x FY16F PE at between -1.5 to -1SD of its 7-year mean.

We believe its share price correction of -21% since our downgrade in early August has been overdone and has priced in structural cost challenges as well as weaker margins going forward.

Share price now values DFI’s core business at just 18x PE.

Dairy Farm: An Undervalued Asian Retail Giant

Summary

Dairy Farm owns and operates some of the most recognizable and established retail brands in Asia.

It's share price has been battered by temporary headwinds, losing more than half its market cap.

Dairy Farm has rapidly-growing sales, a widening moat, strong historical margins and quality management.

Share price is undervalued using conservative estimates.

Optimal strategy is to buy and hold, forever.

Dairy Farm: Full-year profit down 17%.

Dairy Farm International Holdings on Thursday reported a nearly 17% fall in profit attributable to shareholders of US$424.4m for the 2015 financial year, down from US$509.1m a year ago.

Overall performance was impacted by a "challenging retail environment", said the company, with both the food, and the health and beauty divisions reporting lower profits, even though most key businesses achieved positive like-for-like sales growth.
